Connect for Microsoft Outlook and CRM

Connect for Microsoft Outlook provides you with flexibility by making it possible for you to perform CRM tasks in GovWin Capture Management or directly in Microsoft Outlook.

This add-in software is not intended to replace the ability to perform these tasks in GovWin Capture Management.

With Connect for Microsoft Outlook, you can manage GovWin Capture Management business appointments, email messages, customers, and contacts, as well as GovWin Capture Management activities, vendor/partners, and opportunities, all from Outlook.

You purchase the Connect for Microsoft Outlook module separately from the core GovWin Capture Management software. Connect for Microsoft Outlook replaces an earlier GovWin Capture Management feature called "Synchronization Server." See your system administrator if you have questions.

After you install and configure Connect for Microsoft Outlook, when you open Outlook, Connect for Microsoft Outlook functionality is included in Outlook.

When you use Connect for Microsoft Outlook, you have the full functionality of Outlook as well as the following GovWin Capture Management functionality:

  • Contact, customer, and vendor/partner management — You can add or update GovWin Capture Management contacts, customers, and vendor/partners. You can associate them with other GovWin Capture Management records.
  • Activity and task management — You can create and manage GovWin Capture Management calendar activities and tasks and associate them with other GovWin Capture Management customers, contacts, employees, opportunities, or contracts.
  • Email message management — You can manage email messages related to GovWin Capture Management and create activities for them.
  • Opportunity management — You can add or update GovWin Capture Management opportunities and associate them with other records.

Connect for Microsoft Outlook provides you with the following capabilities:

  • Bi-directional synchronization — Incremental, bi-directional synchronization ensures that information between Connect for Microsoft Outlook and the GovWin Capture Management application stays up-to-date and consistent.
  • Disconnected support — You can perform work with GovWin Capture Management data in Outlook even when you are disconnected from the GovWin Capture Management database.
