Automatic Numbering for New Records

The auto numbering feature generates an identification number for new records created in the Contract, Employee, Vendor/Partner, Customer, Opportunity, and Marketing Campaign Info Centers.

Your system administrator defines the structure of these identification numbers to match your firm's business requirements.

When auto numbering is enabled, GovWin Capture Management generates the number when you create a new record in one of the following ways:

  • Click New on the Dashboard.
  • Copy another record.
  • Click the New button in an Info Center.
  • Use a template.
  • Copy an opportunity to create a contract.

After you create the new record, [Auto Number] displays in the Number field for the record. You can change this number only if you select the Allow Override of Auto Number option on the Numbering tab of General System Settings.
