Expense Summary
Use the Expense Summary report to compare actual amounts to budgeted amounts, by account. This report displays a subset of expense data from the Project Summary report, grouped by account number within each work breakdown structure level.
Source of Budget Data
If you the Planning application, use the options on the Budget & Expense tab to select the source of the project budget data for the report:
- Project Budget Worksheet in Accounting
- The plan mapped to the projects in Planning
Reporting at Billing Rates
This report is affected by the Reporting at Billing Rates setting on the Reporting tab of the Accounting System Settings form ( ).
Multiple Currencies
If you use multiple currencies, a report may display amounts in different currencies. If the report contains a total for a column that contains mixed currencies, that total displays as ####, rather than as an actual amount. If you generate a report with a mix of currencies, you can include currency symbols or codes to identify the currency for each amount.
For more direct comparison of amounts, you can select a presentation currency for the report so that all amounts display in a single currency. To do that, select Presentation Currency in Report In on the General tab of the Options dialog box and specify the currency and the date for determining exchange rates.

Use the Options dialog box to specify reporting options for a report. Depending on the report, the dialog box contains one or more of the following tabs: General, Sorting/Grouping, Columns, Budget, Metrics, User Defined Sections, Activity, Drill Down, Layout, and Graph.
