Updating Billing Status for Multiple Transactions
You can update the billing status for multiple billing transactions at the same time. This is useful if you have large projects with many billing transactions, making it difficult to update billing status settings on the Interactive Billing form.
Select the transactions to update using any combination of the following criteria:
- All or selected projects
- Range of accounting periods
- Range of transaction dates
- Transaction type: labor, expense, unit
- Including or excluding historical labor and expense transactions
You can assign one of the following billing status settings to the transactions that you select:
- Bill
- Hold
- Write-off
- Delete
If you use the same status update options frequently, you can create a saved set of options that you can reuse, rather than specifying the options that you want each time.
You can run the status update process immediately or schedule it to run at another time (after business hours, for example).
If you schedule the update process, note that someone, before the process runs, could accept an invoice with transactions to be included in the update process. That would set the billing status to Final Bill for those transactions. If that occurs, the Update Billing Status process skips the transactions with the Final Bill status, leaving their status unchanged.
If you have multiple companies, the update process only includes transactions for the active company.
