Project Plan Summary Dashpart

Use the Project Plan Summary dashpart to view a summary of the project's labor, expense, and consultant job-to-date (JTD) and estimate-to-complete (ETC) billing amounts at the project level. This dashpart provides one detailed view that shows how the project is trending against the contract amount as of the current date. Or, if you are planning at cost, you can view the estimate-at-completion (EAC) overhead against the contract amount to determine the potential profit for the project.

About job-to-date (JTD) date: If the Accounting application or Time & Expense application is activated, the JTD date is the current date. If neither of those applications is activated, the JTD date is normally the date of the latest JTD record in the database, but your system administrator can specify a different JTD date temporarily.

The amounts on this dashpart display at billing or cost, depending on the option you select in the upper-right corner of the dashboard. Whether both options are available depends on the budget type selected for the project plan. If both Billing and Cost options are available, you can switch between them, and the chart's information will update accordingly.

If your firm uses multiple currencies, the currency in use is indicated next to the Billing or Cost option. The project cost currency is always used when viewing projects and plans at cost. A configuration setting that your system administrator selects determines whether project cost currency or billing currency is used when you view projects and plans at billing.

When you select the Cost option, some information may not display if your security role does not provide access rights to labor cost rates and amounts.

Field Description
Contract This horizontal line represents the total contract amount: Direct labor + Direct and reimbursable expenses + Direct and reimbursable consultants.
ETC This portion of the bar represents the total ETC amount for the project. This is the billing or cost value of planned labor, expenses, and consultants that is required from the day after the JTD date through the end of the plan.
JTD This portion of the bar represents the JTD amount for labor, expenses, and consultants through the JTD date, at billing or cost.

Calculation if Accounting application activated: Posted labor + Expenses + Consultants + Unposted labor + Committed purchase orders.

Calculation if Accounting application not activated: Posted labor + Expenses + Consultants

EAC Overhead (displays if the Cost option is selected) This portion of the bar displays the EAC overhead.

Calculation: JTD overhead allocation + estimated JTD overhead allocation (since last allocation) + estimated ETC overhead

EAC Profit (displays if the Cost option is selected) This portion of the bar displays EAC profit.

Calculation: Contract amount - JTD amount - ETC amount - EAC overhead

When you hover over the EAC profit portion of the bar, it displays both the EAC profit amount and the EAC profit percentage.

If the EAC profit is negative because there is a loss, it does not appear on the chart.
