Important Changes to the Costpoint Release Methodology

Introducing the New Costpoint Release Methodology for Cloud Customers

Deltek is excited to announce the new Costpoint Release Methodology. The new release methodology will allow the Costpoint team to deliver minor enhancements and new features faster, while ensuring a higher level of quality and stability.

Coinciding with the launch of Costpoint 8.2, Deltek will move to a Continuous Delivery release methodology. Costpoint 8.2 will become Deltek’s Innovation Release, receiving monthly minor enhancements and new features on a predictable schedule (Spring, Summer, Fall). Deltek will continue preparing customers for upcoming new features via our Client Assistance Program (CAP).

Costpoint Enterprise Cloud customers will continue to “Preview” new features in their Non-Production Environment prior to the feature being launched in their Production Environment. Minor enhancements, regulatory updates and high severity hot fixes will be launched directly to their Production and Non-Production Environments on a monthly basis.

Keep in mind these changes will only take affect for your company after you have been upgraded to Costpoint 8.2. Deltek has provided communications for when your company will be upgraded to Costpoint 8.2.

Introducing the New Costpoint Release Methodology for On Premise Customers

Deltek is excited to announce the new Costpoint Release Methodology. The new release methodology will allow the Costpoint team to deliver minor enhancements and new features faster, while ensuring a higher level of quality and stability.

Coinciding with the launch of Costpoint 8.2, Deltek will move to a Continuous Delivery release methodology. Costpoint 8.2 will become Deltek’s Innovation Release, delivering minor enhancements and new features on a continuous basis. Costpoint 8.1 will move into Maintenance Support (see Costpoint Product Lifecycle Phases) and will remain in Maintenance Support thru the end of 2025 or beyond. As a reminder, in Maintenance Support, Costpoint 8.1 will receive no new enhancements or new features while continuing to receive regulatory updates and critical defect repairs.

By early 2024, it is expected that both Costpoint 8.2 and Costpoint 8.1 will offer “pick and choose” capability, until then defect fixes will be provided via MRs. Customers on Costpoint 8.2 will be able to selectively apply new features, enhancements and defect fixes (per application). Costpoint 8.1 customers can selectively apply defect fixes (per application).

Deltek will continue to provide a monthly Maintenance Release package or MR. MRs have been an easy and preferred method for many customers to keep their Costpoint system up to date.

Costpoint Emergency Hotfix – District of Columbia SUTA Electronic Reporting

Affected Customers: Payroll customers that require SUTA reporting in District of Columbia.

In 2022, the District of Columbia (DC) announced a change to their 2023 SUTA reporting layout. Deltek released updates to accommodate the new layout in October 2022. In 2023, DC delayed their decision to accept the new format resulting in the current Create Quarterly SUTA Tax File application to generate an unsupported file format.

Deltek will be releasing a fix for this issue. If you're a Deltek Payroll user and reporting SUTA data to the District of Columbia (DC), please be aware you will need the bug fix before generating your Q1 2023 file on the Costpoint's Create Quarterly SUTA Tax File application.

  • On-premise clients should contact Deltek Customer Care to receive this fix.
  • Cloud clients will receive this fix by April 24th with the MR 8.1.18 release.
