ALERT

In order to comply with federal 941 reporting requirements, clients must begin using MR 8.0.13, MR 7.1.21, or higher MRs as soon as possible. MR 8.0.13 and MR 7.1.21 introduced payroll calculation updates needed in order to determine the correct amount for the following 941 worksheet fields:

  • Field 2a(iii) in Form 941 - Worksheet 3 (Credit for Qualified Sick and Family Leave Wages for Leave Taken After March 31, 2021). Field 2a(iii) is used to report the qualified sick leave wages included on Form 941, Part 3, line 23, that were not included as wages reported on Form 941, Part 1, line 5a, because the qualified sick leave wages were limited by the social security wage base.
  • Field 2g(iii) in Form 941 – Worksheet 3 (Credit for Qualified Sick and Family Leave Wages for Leave Taken After March 31, 2021). Field 2g(iii) is used to report qualified family leave wages included on Form 941, Part 3, line 26, that were not included as wages reported on Form 941, Part 1, line 5a, because the qualified family leave wages were limited by the social security wage base.

Important Reminder to our Valued Costpoint Customers RE: Costpoint Release Methodology and Action Items

In 2019 we announced some changes to our Costpoint release methodology (KB: 98538). These changes were made based on customer input to improve product quality, stability, packaging and predictability.

The Costpoint release model provides customers with new features released once or twice a year as a major or minor release. Costpoint 8.0 was released in September 2020 and Costpoint 8.1 is currently targeted for limited availability beginning in September 2021.

In addition to major or minor feature releases, monthly maintenance releases (MRs) include critical hot fixes and regulatory updates packaged together as a single cumulative update.

What does this mean for you?

  • New features will be released as a major or minor release (8.0, 8.1) once or twice per year. New feature releases will be supported for up to 24 months.
  • Maintenance releases (MRs) will include high severity (Sev 1 and 2) (KB: 38093) defect repair and regulatory updates only; no new enhancements.
  • Hotfixes will only be made in upcoming MRs. We will not retrofit hotfixes to prior MRs. Customers will need to plan to upgrade to a new MR to consume hotfixes.
  • Only Sev 1 defects will be considered for out of cycle release, we will not consider Sev 2 or lower (KB: 38093).
  • The 2021 Calendar year end regulatory updates including tax table updates, W-2 updates, etc. will be included in the 7.1.25 (December) and the 8.0.17 (December) cumulative Monthly Releases.

Calendar Year End Updates

On-premise customers that require Calendar Year End updates will need to plan to consume 7.1.25 or 8.0.17 in December 2021. If you need the Calendar Year End update or consume regular hotfixes, we encourage you to start planning now to upgrade and stay current on our major or minor feature releases and monthly maintenance releases.

Costpoint Support Lifecycle

As previously communicated, Costpoint 7.1.1 will enter sustaining support on March 1, 2022. There will be no new software enhancements, hot fixes, service packs, or regulatory updates of any kind for versions in this phase. Customers should plan to upgrade to Costpoint 8 before March 1, 2022 to receive critical fixes and security updates (KB: 58655).
