Steps for Developing a New Development Package in the Cloud

Follow these steps to create a new development package in the cloud.

Step Description
1 The SaaS Developer gains access to the Development Environment and begins development work.
2 When the SaaS Developer has completed their unit testing, they will promote the development package to the Test Environment where user acceptance testing is completed. The SaaS Developer submits the Deploy Development Package service request (step 4 in the diagram) to promote the development package.
Note: The SaaS Developer must be designated as a SaaS Customer Administrator to submit the service request. If they are not designated as a SaaS Customer Administrator, they will have to request that the SaaS Customer Administrator to submit the service request.
3 After the user acceptance testing is successfully completed in the Test Environment the Deploy Development Package service request is submitted to promote the development package to the Production Environment.
Note: Most development packages require a server restart for activation. Server restarts are scheduled to occur during Standing Maintenance windows. Please review the Maintenance Windows section in the SaaS Admin Guide for further details.
