Organization Security Scenario
This section contains an example of the approval process in Approve Purchase Requisition Lines when organization security is on.
Scenario | Approval Process | Approval Title | Approval Title User Preferred Sequence | Approval Title User | Authorized Org(s) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | T1 | T1 | 1 | User 1 | 1 |
T1 | 3 | User 2 | 2 | ||
T1 | 2 | User 3 | 1,2 |
Example
The Approval Title User Preferred Sequence does not mean that all users are required for approval and/or that User 1 should approve first before User 2 and so on.
Preferred sequence means lower numbers have the highest priority in this approval title. In the example above, in the absence of User 1 (because User 1 has the preferred sequence of 1), User 3 is the next in line in the approval process because User 3 has the higher priority having the preferred sequence of 2.
Using the approval process in Scenario 1, create a requisition with Header Org = 1 with three (3) requisition lines.
- Req Line 1 linked to Org 1
- Req Line 2 linked to Org 1
- Req Line 3 linked to Org 1
Screen Behavior:
When User 2 tries to query the requisition on the Approve Purchase Requisition Line (PPMRQAPL) screen, Costpoint displays the following error message: “Your user ID does not have access to the Requisitioner’s Organization: [Org ID].” This is because only Users 1 and 3 can view and approve the requisition. User 2 is not authorized for the requisitioner’s org 1.
Screen Behavior:
On the Approve Purchase Requisition Line (PPMRQAPL) screen, when you try to add a new title in a requisition/requisition line, Costpoint displays the following warning message: “Requisition requires approval but not all of the approver(s) for one or more of the approval title(s) authorized for the Requisitioner’s Organization ID.” This is because only Users 1 and 3 can view and approve the requisition. User 2 is not authorized for the requisitioner’s org 1.
