  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Basic Info Tab

Use this tab to determine the data entry requirements for the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

  • Select the Required checkbox to require entry in a field.
  • Enter a value in the Default Value field if you want a default value to populate a field.
  • If you use roles, you can enter a user's required role for entering in a field on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen. If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter the information in that field.
  • Choose a default source for the default value for the Account Group and Owning Organization fields.

If you use quick project templates on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen, complete the setup in this tab before you enter projects on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen or the Create Projects from Templates screen.

Project

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role that a user must have to enter a project on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a project.

Project Name

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a project name.

Project Abbreviation

Select this checkbox to require the entry of a project abbreviation on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role that a user must have to enter a project abbreviation on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a project abbreviation.

Project Manager

Select this checkbox to require the entry of a project manager on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Default Value

If you would like a specific project manager to default in the Project Manager field on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID, enter it or click to select it here.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen as needed.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role that a user must have to enter a project manager on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a project manager.

Customer

Select this checkbox to require the entry of a customer on the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Default Value

To have a specific customer default in the Customer field on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID, enter it or click to select it here.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen as needed.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role which a user must have to enter a customer on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a customer.

Prime Contract No

Select this checkbox to require the entry of a prime contract number on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Default Value

To have a specific prime contract number default in the Prime Contract No field on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen, enter it here.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen as needed.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role that a user must have to enter a prime contract number on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a prime contract number.

Subcontractor No

To have a specific project classification default in the Project Classification field on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen, select it from the drop-down list.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen as needed.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role that a user must have to enter a project classification on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter a project classification.

Active

Select this checkbox to have the Active checkbox default as selected on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role which a user must have to choose whether a project is active or not on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can choose whether a project is active or not.

Allow Charging

Select this checkbox to have the Allow Charging checkbox default as selected on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

Role

If you use roles, enter or click to select, the role which a user must have to choose whether charges can be applied to a project on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can choose whether charges are allowed.

Account Group

Field Description

Select this checkbox to require the entry of an account group on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Default Source

Select the place from which you want the default account group to be retrieved for this template ID. Valid options are:

  • None: No account group defaults.
  • Enter default here: Use the account group default value from the Default Value field in this tab.
  • Account Group Mapping: Use the account group defaults from the Manage Project Account Group Mappings screen.
  • Project Settings: Use the account group defaults from the Quick Project Defaults block of the Configure Project Settings screen.
Default Value

If you selected Enter default here in the Default Source field on this tab, enter, or use to select, the default account group for the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen as needed.

Role

Owning Organization

Select this checkbox to require the entry of an owning organization on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Default Source

Select the place from which you want the default owning organization to be retrieved for this template ID. Valid options are:

  • None: No owning organization defaults.
  • Enter default here:  Use the owning organization default from the Default Value field in this tab.
  • Organization Mapping: Use the owning organization defaults from the Manage Project Organization Mappings screen.
  • Project Settings: Use the owning organization defaults from the Quick Project Defaults block of the Configure Project Settings screen.
Default Value

If you selected Enter default here in the Default Source field, enter, or click to select, the owning organization default value for the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen as needed.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role that a user must have to enter an owning organization on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

Use Top Level Work Force

Select this checkbox to have the Use Top Level Work Force checkbox selected by default on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen for this template ID.

Users can change the default entry on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

Role

If you use roles, enter, or click to select, the role which a user must have to enter whether to use the top level of this project for work force validation on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project Master Data from Templates screen.

If you leave the Role field blank, any user can enter whether to use the top level of this project for work force validation.
