Create Security Groups

Configuring security groups correctly ensures that only authorized users within your organization are able to access restricted part data.

To set up security groups:

  1. On the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, select the Use Part Data Security Controls check box to enable security restrictions for restricted parts in your organization's inventory.
  2. On the Manage Security Groups screen, click  to add a new record on the security group line.
  3. Enter values in the following fields:
    Field Name Description
    Security Group Enter a unique identification code for the security group.
    Description Enter a description that will be associated with the security group.
    Issuing Agency Enter the issuing agency for which the security group is created.
    Status Select from the drop-down whether this security group is Active or Inactive.
    Activation Date Enter or click  to select the date.
