Conversion Subtask

Use this subtask to create units of measure conversions using the codes established on the main screen.

This conversion tells Costpoint how it connects one unit of measure to another. On this subtask, you identify the conversion direction and conversion factor.

Set up this subtask during initialization and maintain it whenever units of measure conversions are established or modified for a given part's unit of measure on the Planning Details subtask of the Manage Parts screen.

Units of Measure

This table displays the unit of measure from which the conversion is taking place.

Field Description
U/M Code/Description

The unit of measure code and description being converted "from" displays.

To Unit of Measure

Use this table to enter the available units of measure to which the "from" unit of measure can be converted. To select, highlight rows on this table and click the Select button.

Round Type

Use the drop-down list to select the rounding type that aids in the conversion process. The rounding type is a code indicating the system-defined rounding methods. Valid options are:

The possible rounding types that are available are:

  • U-Up: Select this option to increase to the next higher whole number.
  • D-Down: Select this option to lower to the previous whole number.
