Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Sub Parts Subtask

Use the Sub Parts subtask to view current inventory information for any substitute parts for the selected part and project selected on the main screen header.

Costpoint checks to see if substitutes are allowed for that part/project. If substitutes are allowed, it checks to see if project specific substitutes have been defined for that part. If substitutes are not allowed, no substitute parts display. This information is defined on the Manage Part Project Data screen. Otherwise, Costpoint looks at the substitute parts defined in Product Definition.

Field Description
Part

This column displays the ID of the part in the selected inventory record. The part description displays in the unlabeled field below this field.

Rev

This column displays the part revision number of the selected inventory record.

U/M

This column displays the default or inventory unit of measure for the selected part.

Sequence

This column displays the sequence in the order of preference for the substitute part. If there are multiple rows of possible substitute parts, the one with the lowest sequence number is selected.

Substitute Part

This column displays the substitute part that can be exchanged for the selected part.

Rev

This column displays the revision level of the substitute part.

Description

This column displays the description of the substitute part.

U/M

This column displays the default or inventory unit of measure for the substitute part.

Status

This column displays the status of the substitute part.

Inv Abbrev

This column displays the inventory abbreviation code associated with the substitute part.

Project

This column displays the ID of the project associated with the inventory abbreviation.

Net Available Quantity

This column displays the net available quantity of the part/inventory abbreviation combination. It is the sum of all the On Hand Quantity, In Inspection Quantity, In Shipping Quantity, In MRB Quantity, On Order Quantity, On Requisition Quantity, Owed Quantity, and Planned Owed Quantity minus the sum of the Reserved Quantity and Planned Reserved Quantity fields for the part/inventory abbreviation combination. (In MRB is included only if you selected the Incl MRB as Available Inventory checkbox in the Configure Production Control Settings screen in Costpoint Production Control.)

Current Available Quantity

This column displays the current available quantity of the part/inventory abbreviation combination. It is the sum of all the On Hand Quantity and In Inspection Quantity minus the Reserved Quantity for that part/inventory abbreviation combination.

Project

This column displays the project ID associated with the substitute part.
