User-Defined Info Subtask

Use this subtask to define user-defined information when creating a sales order.

You must have already established the labels for these user-defined fields on the Manage Order User-Defined Labels screen.

You can also use this screen to view validated text and labels that were entered on the Manage Order User-Defined Labels screen.

You must set up the labels or validated text for user-defined fields on the Manage Sales Order User-Defined Labels screen before they display on this screen. Although you can set them up at any time, for more complete sales order information, you should set them up before entering any sales order.

Table Window

Field Description
Data Type

This field displays the data type allowed on the Manage Order User-Defined Labels screen. D (Date) displays entry of only a date. N (Numeric) displays entry of only a number. T (Text) displays entry of alphanumeric text.

You can only use T (Text) data types if Y (Yes) displays in the Validated Text field.

Labels

This field displays the label for the user defined field.

Text Value

Enter, or click to select, the text value of the selected user-defined label.

Numeric Value

Enter a numeric value that corresponds to the user-defined numeric label selected.

Date Value

Enter, or click to select, the date value of selected user-defined label.

Costpoint Validation Field

This field displays the validation field selected on the Manage Order User-Defined Labels screen. The Validated Text field cannot be used when this column is active.

Validated Text

This field displays a Y (Yes) if entries for this label are restricted to specific alphanumeric text. Use the Validated Text subtask on the Manage Order User-Defined Labels screen to create these text items and their descriptions. The Costpoint Validation Field cannot be used for this row when there is a Y (Yes) in this column.

Required

This field displays a Y (Yes) if this user-defined information is required for this sales order on this screen.
