  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

ECNs Subtask

Use the ECNs subtask to view Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for the part.

You can assign ECN information to parts on the Manage Engineering Change Notices and Approve Engineering Change Notices screens in Costpoint Engineering Change Notices.

Field Description
Item

This field displays the item selected for the inquiry. A description of the item displays in the unlabeled field on the right

Rev

This field displays the revision level for the selected part.

ECN

This field displays the ID of the ECN.

ECN Rev

This field displays the revision level of the ECN.

ECN Description

This field displays the description of the ECN.

Status

This field displays the status of the ECN.

Type

This field displays the type of ECN.

Class

This field displays the ECN class.

Priority

This field displays the priority of the ECN.

Reason

This field displays the reason for the ECN.

Action Code

This field displays the code of the action that this ECN will perform. The values are:

  • Add
  • Change
  • Delete
  • Replace
  • New Rev
  • Obsolete
Original Part

This field displays the ID of the part that will be affected by the ECN.

Original Part Rev

This field displays the revision of the part that will be affected by the ECN.

Orig Part Desc

This field displays the description of the part that will be affected by the ECN.

Orig Part Status

This field displays the release status of the part that will be affected by the ECN. The values are:

  • Estimating
  • Obsolete
  • Pre-Release
  • Released
  • Phase-Out
  • Unreleased
Original Part Active

This field displays Yes or No depending on whether the original part affected by the ECN is active or not.

Change-To Part

This field displays the ID of the part that will replace the original part. If the Original Part field is blank, this field displays the new part being created by the ECN.

Change-To Part Rev

This field displays the revision of the part that will replace the original part. If the Original Part field is blank, this field displays the revision level of the new part being created by the ECN.

Change-To Part Desc

This field displays the description of the part that will replace the original part. If the Original Part field is blank, this field displays the description of the new part being created by the ECN.

Change-To Part Status

This field displays the release status that will be assigned to the change-to part by the ECN. The values are:

  • Estimating
  • Obsolete
  • Pre-Release
  • Released
  • Phase-Out
  • Unreleased
Change-To Part CAGE

This field displays the Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code of the part to be added by the ECN.

Change-To Make/Buy

This field displays Buy if the change-to part is normally purchased and Make if it is normally manufactured.

Material Disposition

This field displays the code for material disposition. The values are:

  • Scrap
  • Rework
  • Reinspect
  • No Change
  • Update Rev
Effective Date

This field displays the date when the modifications become effective.

Originator

This field displays the employee ID of the person from whom the ECN originated.

Originator Name

This field displays the name of the person from whom the ECN originated.

Organization

This field displays the organization to which the ECN is linked.

ECN Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN originated.

Submitted For Approval Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN was submitted for approval.

Approval Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN was approved.

Planned Impl Date

This field displays the date on which modifications are planned for implementation.

Implementation Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN modifications were implemented.

Cust Apprvl Reqd

This field displays Y (Yes) or N (No) to indicate whether or not customer approval is required for the ECN.

Customer

This field displays the ID of the customer who requested the ECN.

Customer Name

This field displays the name of the customer who requested the ECN.

Customer Apprvl Status

This field displays the current status of the customer approval. The values are:

  • Not Required
  • Pending
  • Approved
  • Rejected
ECP

This field displays the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) number assigned to the ECN.

ECP Type

This field displays the current type of the ECP, either Formal, Preliminary or Not Applicable.

CAGE

This field displays the CAGE ID assigned to the ECN.

Approval Project

This field displays the project ID that will be used to determine the users who can approve the ECN.

Hold

This field displays Y (Yes) or N (No) to indicate whether or not the ECN is on hold.

Originator Phone

This field displays the telephone number of the originator of the ECN.

Originator Phone Ext

This field displays the telephone extension of the originator of the ECN.

Approval Process

This field displays the approval process that this ECN will be required to pass before implementation.

Last Change User

This field displays the user ID of the person who made the last modification to the ECN.

Last Change Date/Time

This field displays the date and time of the last modification to the ECN.

Entry User

This field displays the user ID of the person who originally created the ECN.

Entry Date/Time

This field displays the date and time the ECN was originally created.
