Use the fields and options to configure the Apply Mass Component Changes to Proposal BOMS screen.

Identification

Use the fields in this block to create a new parameter ID or to retrieve a previously saved parameter ID. A parameter ID represents a set of screen selection parameters. After you have saved a parameter ID and its related parameters, you can retrieve them using Query.

You can use the retrieved parameters to produce reports and run processes more efficiently and with greater consistency. The saved parameters are also useful and necessary when you want to run the process as part of a batch job. Many users save a unique set of parameters for each different way they run a report or process. When you select a previously saved parameter ID or parameter description, the associated saved screen selection parameters automatically display as selection defaults. The page setup and print options, if there are any, are also included in the saved parameter ID. You can change any of the associated selection defaults as necessary.

Field	Description
Parameter ID	Enter, or click to select, a parameter ID of up to 15 alphanumeric characters. Choose characters for your parameter ID that help identify the type of selections you made on the screen, such as PERIOD or QUARTERLY. When you save your record, all the selections made on the screen are stored with the parameter ID. Later, you can retrieve the parameter using Query. You can use the parameter to run the process more efficiently because you can select the parameter ID with its previously defined screen selections. After the default selections display on the screen, you can override the defaults.
Description	Enter, or click to select, a parameter description of up to 30 alphanumeric characters.

Selection Ranges

Use this group box to select a proposal or range of proposals to be searched for and include the process.

Proposal

Field	Description
Option	Select an option from the drop-down list to indicate how you intend to search for proposals to include in the component change process. The choices are: All One (default) Range From Beginning To End
Start	Enter, or click to select, the proposal ID at the beginning of the range of proposals you wish to search for. You can also enter, or click to select, the revision number of the proposal, if applicable. This field is enabled if you selected One, Range, or To End from the Option drop-down list.
End	Enter, or click to select, proposal ID at the end of the range of proposals you wish to search for. You can also enter, or click to select, the revision number of the proposal, if applicable. This field is enabled if you selected Range or From Beginning from the Option drop-down list.

Component Information

From Component

Use this group box to specify the component part that is being replaced or deleted.

Field	Description
Part, Rev	Enter, or click to select, the part ID and revision (if applicable) of the component part that is to be replaced or deleted. The part description displays in the unlabeled field below. If you selected the Replace option in the Replace/Delete From Component drop-down list, the part that you enter in this field is replaced with the part in the To Component group box for all PBOMs specified by the other selections you make on this screen. If you selected the Delete option in the Replace/Delete From Component drop-down list, the PBOM line is deleted.
U/M, Part Status, Part Type, Make/Buy	These fields display the corresponding values for the selected Part or Rev. The values come from the Manage Parts screen for standard parts, or the Manage Provisional Parts screen for provisional parts.
Provisional Part Type	For provisional parts, this field displays the value from the Manage Provisional Parts screen. Establish provisional part types on the Manage Provisional Part Types screen. (For standard parts, this field is blank.)

To Component

If you selected the Replace option in the Replace/Delete From Component drop-down list, use this group box to specify the component part that will replace the part specified in the From Component group box.

All fields in this group box are disabled if you selected the Delete option in the Replace/Delete From Component drop-down list.

Field	Description
Part, Rev	Enter, or click to select, the part ID and revision (if applicable) of the replacement part. The part description displays in the unlabeled field below.
U/M, Part Status, Part Type, Make/Buy, Provisional Part Type	These fields display the corresponding values for the selected Part or Rev. The values come from the Manage Parts screen for standard parts, or the Manage Provisional Parts screen for provisional parts.
Part Lookup Type	Select the lookup type from the drop-down list which will identify which part type will be used for the Part lookup. The values are: Standard — Select this option to search among standard parts. Provisional — Select this option to search among provisional parts. All — Select this option to search from both standard and provisional parts.

Field

Description

Replace/Delete From Component

Select an option from the drop-down list. The available options are: Replace — Select this option to have the process replace the part that is listed in the From Component group box with the part in the To Component group box for the specified proposals' PBOM lines. The unit of measure, part status, part type, and make/buy code are also updated for each applicable PBOM line. Delete — Select this option to have the process delete the part that is listed in the From Component group box from the specified proposals' PBOM lines. If the component exists in the selected PBOM line, the PBOM line is deleted.

Select Proposal Status

Use this group box to further limit the proposals specified in the Select Ranges group box according to the proposal status. Select all check boxes in this group box to have the system process all PBOM lines, regardless of the associated proposal's status.

Field	Description
In-Process	Select this check box to include PBOM lines from proposals that have a status of In-Process.
Completed	Select this check box to include PBOM lines from proposals that have a status of Completed.
Submitted	Select this check box to include PBOM lines from proposals that have a status of Submitted.
Closed	Select this check box to include PBOM lines from proposals that have a status of Closed.
Update Frozen PBOMs	Select this check box to include PBOM lines from proposals in which the Freeze PBOMs check box is selected on the Manage Proposals screen.

Printing and Processing

After you complete this screen, you may want save the settings for future reference.

To preview, print, or process this application with the settings you have selected, click one of the following toolbar icons below found at the top of the screen.

Field	Description
Preview	Use to preview the report on your monitor without processing the application or printing a report on paper. This view is a trial run of the applicable PBOM lines that will be processed by the application when you run it.
Print	Use to print the report on paper without processing the application. This report is a trial run of the applicable PBOM lines that will be processed by the application when you run it. The report is sorted by proposal ID, proposal revision, assembly part, and assembly revision.
Apply PBOM Mass Component Change	Use to process the application in accordance with the settings on this screen. After the process completes, you cannot reverse it automatically.
Print/Apply PBOM Mass Component Change	Click drop-down and select the Print/Apply PBOM Mass Component Change command to process the application and print the report in accordance with the settings on this screen. The report is sorted by proposal ID, proposal revision, assembly part, and assembly revision. After the process completes, you cannot reverse it automatically. Note: If you mistakenly switched the From part with the To part and need to reverse the process, simply transpose the part IDs in the From Component and To Component group boxes (that is, the opposite of what originally appeared on the screen) and then re-run the process for the same proposal range and statuses.

Subtask

Subtask	Description
PBOM Assemblies	Click this link to open the PBOM Assemblies subtask, where you can view the PBOM assemblies within the selected range that include the From part, regardless of proposal status.
