WS Other Cost WS Subtask

The Other Cost WS subtask displays manufacturing order (MO), inventory, item cost, and project item cost information for the end item selected on the main screen table window.

Note:

This subtask is disabled if the selected component part row is a provisional part.

You can select a row and click the Add to Proposal Costs button to add the Minimum Quantity and This Level Unit Cost fields for that row to the Proposal Item Costs subtask. You can override the affected row in the Proposal Item Costs subtask and use these fields to derive proposal costs only when the highest Minimum Quantity is less than or equal to the selected breakpoint quantity for the item.

Item cost and project item cost lines display in this table window if the sum of the This Level Costs columns (Material, Labor, Subcontract, Misc 1, and Misc 2) is greater than zero on the Manage Item Costs or Manage Project Item Costs screens, where you can update the cost information. Use the Compute Proposal Item Costs screen to update applicable cost information for the Manage Proposal BOM Cost Estimates  (Indented and Summarized) screens.

Contents

Field Description
Proposal, Rev

The values in these fields come from the main screen.

Item, Rev, U/M, Make/Buy, Provisional

The values in these fields come from the main screen table window for the selected item line.

Proposal Quantity Breakpoints

Field Description
1 to 5

The values in these fields come from the main screen table window for the selected item line. Each calculated value in the proposal quantity break field defaults in the appropriate field in this group box.

Other Costs WS

This table window displays all manufacturing order (MO), inventory, item cost, and project item cost information for the selected item/component part.

Costs displayed in this subtask relate to This Level costs only, rather than total costs. You can calculate lower level costs by using the Compute Proposal Item Costs screen to roll up lower part costs in the PBOM.

Item cost and project item cost lines display in this table window if the This Level Costs columns are already set up and their sum is greater than zero on the Manage Item Costs or Manage Project Item Costs screens.

All inventory rows for the component part whose cost amount sum is greater than zero load in the table window. MOs whose Type (on the Manage Manufacturing Orders screen) is Standard load into this table window only when the line's order date is not later than the MO Order Date Cutoff for the proposal on the Costing Parameters tab of the Manage Proposals screen, or if timesheet lines are issued to the MO on the Manage Timesheets screen. Additionally, if the MO does not have any costs or timesheet lines issued against it, or if the MO status is Planned or Firm Planned, it does not load into this table window. MOs whose MO Type is C (Customer Repair) or R (Rework) do not load into this table window.

Field Description
Minimum Quantity

If you click the Add to Proposal Costs button, the Minimum Quantity field defaults with the order quantity of the MO for MO cost source type lines. For all other lines, this field defaults to 1, and loads into the Proposal Item Costs subtask based on the breakpoint quantity criteria only if you click the Add to Proposal Costs button and save the record. Multiple rows cannot have the same Minimum Quantity.

This-Level Material Direct Unit Cost

If you click the Add to Proposal Costs button, this field defaults with the value in the Source Material Unit Cost field, if applicable. You can modify it to reflect the desired incremental materials unit cost for the item at the specified minimum quantity.

This-Level Labor Direct Unit Cost

If you click the Add to Proposal Costs button, this field defaults with the value in the Source Labor Unit Cost field, if applicable. You can modify it to reflect the desired incremental labor unit cost for the item at the specified minimum quantity.

This-Level Subcontract Direct Unit Cost

If you click the Add to Proposal Costs button, this field defaults with the value in the Source Subcontract Unit Cost field, if applicable. You can modify it to reflect the desired incremental subcontract unit cost for the item at the specified minimum quantity.

This-Level Misc1 Direct Unit Cost

If you click the Add to Proposal Costs button, this field defaults with the value in the Source Misc1 Unit Cost field, if applicable. You can modify it to reflect the desired incremental miscellaneous 1 unit cost for the item at the specified minimum quantity.

This-Level Misc2 Direct Unit Cost

If you click the Add to Proposal Costs button, this field defaults with the value in the Source Misc2 Unit Cost field, if applicable. You can modify it to reflect the desired incremental miscellaneous 2 unit cost for the item at the specified minimum quantity.

Proposal Direct Unit Cost

This field displays the sum of the This Level Unit Cost fields. You cannot manually modify this field, but it updates automatically if you modify a value in any of the This Level Unit Cost fields.

Cost Source Type, Cost Source Type Description

These fields display the type of cost source, based on whether it is a last, standard, or reference source, and whether it is from item cost, project item cost, manufacturing order, or inventory data:

  • IL - Item Last Cost — The row is populated with item cost data from the Manage Item Costs screen, and the item cost row is Last.
  • IS - Item Standard Cost — The row is populated with item cost data from the Manage Item Cost screen, and the item cost row is Standard.
  • IR - Item Reference Cost — The row is populated with item cost data from the Manage Item Cost screen, and the item cost row is Reference.
  • PL - Project Last Cost — The row is populated with project item cost data from the Manage Project Item Costs screen, and the project item cost row has a Type of L (Last).
  • PS - Project Standard Cost — The row is populated with project item cost data from the Manage Project Item Cost screen, and the project item cost row has a Type of S (Standard).
  • PR - Project Reference Cost — The row is populated with project item cost data from the Manage Project Item Cost screen, and the project item cost row has a Type of R (Reference).
  • MO - Manufacturing Order — The row is populated with data from a manufacturing order from the Manage Manufacturing Orders screen.
  • IN - Inventory — The row is populated with inventory data (from an inventory abbreviation, for example).
Cost Source Number

This field displays the inventory abbreviation if the line is an inventory cost source type. It displays the manufacturing order ID if the line is an MO cost source type. This field is blank for item cost and project item cost lines.

Source Material Unit Cost

This field displays the material unit cost for the cost source type (and cost source ID, if applicable). This field is 0 for MO costs.

Source Labor Unit Cost

This field displays the labor unit cost for the cost source type (and cost source ID, if applicable). This field includes This Level labor costs only for MO (not inventory) cost source types. Costpoint calculates this field by summing the timesheet line labor costs assigned to this MO, then dividing the sum by the MO's build quantity.

Source Subcontract Unit Cost

This field displays the subcontract unit cost for the cost source type (and cost source ID, if applicable). This field includes This Level subcontract costs only for MO (not inventory) cost source types. Costpoint calculates this field by summing the subcontract costs for this MO, then dividing the sum by the MO's build quantity.

Source Misc1 Unit Cost

This field displays the miscellaneous unit cost for the cost source type (and cost source ID, if applicable). This field includes This Level miscellaneous 1 costs only for MO (not inventory) cost source types. Costpoint calculates this field by summing the timesheet line Misc1 costs assigned to this MO, then dividing the sum by the MO's build quantity.

Source Misc2 Unit Cost

This field displays the miscellaneous unit cost for the cost source type (and cost source ID, if applicable). This field includes This Level miscellaneous 2 costs only for MO (not inventory) cost source types. Costpoint calculates this field by summing the timesheet line Misc2 costs assigned to this MO, then dividing the sum by the MO's build quantity.
