PBOM Detail Subtask

Use the PBOM Detail subtask to view a single-level listing of proposal bill of material (PBOM) assemblies for the selected part or provisional part and make/buy code combination for that proposal.

You can maintain these fields on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen.

Field Description
Proposal, Rev

These fields load from the main screen.

Item, Rev, U/M, Make/Buy, Provisional

These fields load from the main screen table window for the selected item line. The Item is the component part for the PBOM assembly.

PBOM Assemblies

Field Description
Line

This field displays the sequential number for this line item as it appears on the PBOM for the assembly part.

Find No

This field displays the drawing find number for this line item as it appears on the PBOM for the assembly part.

Assembly Part

This field displays the assembly part in which this component part (that is, the Item) exists on the PBOM.

Assy Rev

This field displays the revision of the assembly part, if applicable.

Assembly Part Description

This field displays the assembly part's description.

Assy Provisional Part Type

This field displays the assembly part's provisional type, if applicable. This field is blank if the assembly part is a standard part.

Component Type

This field displays the component type code assigned to this component part on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen. Valid options are:

  • Buy with components
  • Standard
  • Phantom
  • Reference
  • Tool
  • Deleted

You assign the component type code to the part in the Part Type drop-down list on the Manage Parts screen (for regular parts) or the Manage Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts).

Quantity Type

This field displays the quantity type code assigned to this component part on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen. It specifies how component requirements are calculated:

  • Per assembly — Costpoint multiplies the component quantity by the number of assemblies to be created.
  • Per order — Costpoint requires a fixed component quantity for each assembly manufacturing order created.
  • As required — Component requirements are not generated for this assembly.

The default value in this field depends on the component type, and the setting of the As-Required check box on the Manage Parts screen (for regular parts) or the Manage Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts).

Quantity

This field displays the component part's required quantity for the PBOM assembly. The value in this field defaults from the Quantity field for the line on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen.

Scrap

This field displays the component part's scrap percentage for the PBOM assembly. The value in this field defaults from the Scrap field for the line on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen.

PBOM Line Firmed

This field displays Y if this component is considered firm for pricing purposes on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen.

WBS

This field displays the work breakdown structure for the component part as it appears on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen.

PBOM Line Notes

This field displays notes for this PBOM line as they were entered for the component part on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen.
