  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.

  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Configuration Subtask

Use this subtask to assign a configuration ID to the selected assembly part in the Manage Manufacturing Bills Of Material screen.

You can customize bills of material for a given parent part by using configuration IDs and effective dates. You can use configuration IDs to record variations of a manufacturing bill of material (MBOM) for a given part or part/revision without using a different part or revision number. As soon as an item is in inventory, it is considered the same as all other parts with the same part/revision combination, regardless of the configuration under which the part was built.

Configurations are used for planning purposes only, and are established in the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen. In change or display mode, you can view an MBOM's specific configuration or an MBOM as of a specific date, as well as all configurations/effectivities for a given parent. The items in this subtask are enabled only if you selected the Use Configuration IDs check box in the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.

Field Description
Show All Configurations

Select this check box to display all configurations available for the assembly part on the Select End Item Configuration subtask. You can then select a configuration from the Select End Item Configuration subtask and then click Load Configurationand assign the corresponding as-of date and configuration ID to the selected assembly part.

Clear this check box the display all configurations based on the values in the As of Date and Configuration fields on the Select End Item Configuration subtask.

As of Date

Use this field to enter, or use to select, the MBOM effective date of the configuration you want to assign to the selected assembly part.

Configuration

Use this field to enter, or click to select, the configuration ID you want to assign to the selected assembly part.

This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box in the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.

Filter

Click this button to filter MBOM component lines based on the configuration criteria.

Subtask

Subtask Description
Select End Item Configuration Click this link to open the Select End Item Configuration subtask and view serial numbers associated with the selected configuration.
