Use this subtask to view and update the manufacturing bills of material (MBOM) assemblies that use the original part. If there are MBOMs that use this component in Costpoint Bills of Material, the screen will load the existing assembly parts. This subtask is enabled if the Action Code of the selected line in the main screen is Replace, New Revision, Obsolete, or Change and an Original Part is loaded. However, this subtask will be disabled if the Action Code is Add, or New Revision and you did not select the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item check box on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the ECN ID from the main screen. The unlabeled field to the right displays the description of the ECN.
This field displays the original part ID from the main screen. The part description displays in the unlabeled field beneath this field.
This field displays the revision code associated with original part ID from the main screen.
This field displays the status of the part from the Original Part Status field in the main screen or the Manage Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the default inventory unit of measure code for the part from the Manage Parts.
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the replacement part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the component part is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
If the Replace in All BOMs check box is selected or the Action Code is Replace for the selected line on the main screen, all MBOM assemblies in which the Original Part/Revision is listed as a component part will load in the table window with an Action Code of Obsolete. If the Action Code is Change for the selected line in the main screen, all MBOM assemblies in which the Original Part/Revision is listed as a component part will load in the table window with a blank Action Code.
From the drop-down list, select an action this ECN will perform. Valid options are:
Add
Change
Delete
Obsolete
This field defaults with the action code value described in the Table Window section.
Enter up to four digits for the line number that identifies the specific MBOM component line.
Enter up to four alphanumeric characters in this field for the drawing find number used for this MBOM component line. After you enter a value in the Line field for a new line, this field will default with zeroes, but it can be modified. For example, if you enter 3 in the Line field, the Find field will default to 0003.
Enter, or click Lookup to select, the assembly part ID that used the component displayed in the header.
Enter, or click
to select, the assembly part revision associated with the assembly part.
This field displays the description of the assembly part.
From the drop-down list, select the component type code. Valid options are:
Buy With Component
Standard
Phantom
Reference
Tool
Deleted
If this is a new line, the default is the component's part type from the Manage Parts screen.
From the drop-down list, select the quantity type code. Valid options are:
Per Assembly
As Required
Per Order
If you have selected the As Required check box on the Manage Parts screen for the component part, or the Component Type is Reference, the default for this field is As Required. If the Component Type is Tool, the default for this field is Per Order. Otherwise, the default is Per Assembly
Enter up to 14 digits in this required field, including four digits after the decimal point, for the quantity of the component part required in the MBOM. If the Quantity Type is Required, the default is zero. Otherwise, the default is 1.
From the drop-down list, select whether this component is to be manufactured or purchased. Valid options are:
Make — If the component is to be manufactured
Buy — If the component is to be purchased.
The default is the component part's make/buy designation from the Manage Parts screen.
Enter, or click
to select, the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this MBOM. This field must contain a valid BOM configuration ID from the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen in Costpoint Bills of Material. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
This field displays the configuration description. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.
Enter, or click
to select, the date on which this component will become effective in this MBOM. The default is the MBOM component's Effective Starting Date; otherwise, the Suggested Effective Date on the Details tab (of the main screen) displays.
Enter the date on which this component will cease being effective in this MBOM. This field is optional and can be modified. Depending on the Action Code in the main screen, this field defaults with the Suggested Effective Date from the Details tab (if not blank), the Effective Date (from the selected line in the main screen), or the current date (if the Suggested Effective Date and Effective Date are blank).
Select this check box to release this component in this MBOM. The default value is determined by the option you selected in the MBOM Release Control - Default Component Release Status in Bill group box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.
If you did not select the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen, enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters of reference designator text for this component on this assembly. However, if you selected the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box, you can enter up to 32,000 alphanumeric characters in this field. This field displays any reference designator text that was assigned for the component part line in the Component Reference Designators subtask of the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material or Release Manufacturing Bills of Material screen.
Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters in this optional field for comments that apply to this MBOM component. This field displays any comments already entered for the MBOM component.
