Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Product Definition

Use this module to define the parts, goods, and services that your company buys, sells, or tracks.

You can track key item characteristics, including:

  • Costs
  • Prices
  • Planning
  • Buying Requirements
  • Approved Vendor Lists
  • Alternate and Substitute part numbers
  • Material Expiration
  • Export Controls for Data Security

Product Definition is used extensively by Billing, Fixed Assets, and all the modules in Materials. You can also use this module to track documents and their revisions. Documents can be linked to parts and conveniently accessed from different application screens in the Materials modules.
