Use this subtask to view and update the Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM) assemblies that use the original part. If there are EBOMs that use this component in Costpoint Bills of Material, the screen will default the existing assembly parts. This subtask is enabled if the Action Code of the selected line on the main screen is Replace, New Revision, Obsolete, or Change and an Original Part is entered. However, this subtask will be disabled if the Action Code is Add, or New Revision and you did not select the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item check box on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the original part ID from the main screen.
This field displays the revision code associated with original part ID from the main screen.
This field displays the part description.
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the replacement part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the part is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
This field displays the status of the part from the Original Part Status field in the main screen, or the Manage Parts screen (if the part is a standard part) or the Manage Provisional Parts screen (if the part is a provisional part) in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the default inventory unit of measure code for the part from the Manage Parts screen.
Use this drop-down list to select the type for the part that you want use on Lookups in the Assembly Part or Assembly Rev fields. Valid options are:
Standard
Provisional
Click this button to autoload the component information into the table window.
If the Replace in All BOMs check box is selected or the Action Code is Replace for the selected line on the main screen, all EBOM assemblies in which the original part/revision is listed as a component part will default in the table window with an Obsolete action. If the Action Code is Change for the selected line in the main screen, all EBOM assemblies in which the original part/revision is listed as a component part will default in the table window with a blank Action Code.
From the drop-down list, select the action that this ECN will perform. Valid options are:
Add
Change
Delete
Obsolete
This field defaults with the Action Code value described in the Table Window section.
Enter up to four digits the of line number that identifies the specific EBOM component line.
Enter the drawing find number used for this EBOM component line. Upon populating the Line field for a new line, this field will default with zeroes, but can be modified. For example, if you enter 3 in the Line field, the Find No field will default to 0003.
Enter, or click select, the assembly part ID that used the component displayed on the header.
Enter, or click to select, the assembly part revision associated with the Assembly Part.
This field displays the description of the Assembly Part.
From the drop-down list, select the component type code.

If this is a new line, the default is the component's part type from the Manage Parts screen.
From the drop-down list, select the quantity type code. Valid options are:
Per Assembly
As Required
Per Order
If the component part has the As Required check box selected on the Manage Parts screen, or the Component Type is Reference, the default for this field is As Required. If the Component Type is Tool, the default for this field is Per Order. Otherwise, the default is Per Assembly.
Enter the quantity of the component part required in the EBOM. If the Quantity Type is As Required, the default is zero. Otherwise, the default is 1.
From the drop-down list, select the designation to indicate whether the part will be manufactured or purchased. Valid options are:
Make — If the component is to be manufactured
Buy — If the component is to be purchased
The default is the component part's make/buy designation from the Manage Parts screen.
Enter, or click to select, the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this EBOM. If you make an entry, the ID must be a valid BOM configuration ID from the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen in Costpoint Bills of Material. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
This field displays the configuration description. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.
Enter, or click to select, the date on which this component will become effective in this EBOM. The default is the EBOM component's Effective Starting Date; otherwise, the Suggested Effective Date on the Details tab of the main screen.
Enter, or click to select, the date on which this component will cease being effective in this EBOM. Depending on the Action Code on the main screen, this field defaults with the Suggested Effective Date from the Details tab on the main screen (if not null), the Effective Date (from the selected line on the main screen), or the current date (if the Suggested Effective Date and Effective Date are null).
Select this check box to release this component in this EBOM. The default value is determined by the option selected in the EBOM Release Control - Default Component Release Status in Bill group box on the Configure Bills of Material screen.
If you did not select the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box on the Configure Bills of Materials Settings screen, enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters of reference designator text for this component on this assembly. However, if you selected the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box, you can enter up to 32,000 alphanumeric characters. This field displays any reference designator text assigned to the component part line in the Component Reference Designators subtask of the Manage Engineering Bills of Material or Release Engineering Bills of Material screen.
Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters in this field for comments that apply to this EBOM component. This field displays any comments already entered for the EBOM component.
If the assembly part is a provisional part, this field displays the provisional part type assigned to the provisional part ID. You can modify this field only on the Manage Provisional Parts screen. If the assembly part is a standard part, this field is blank.
