This subtask is enabled if the Action Code is Add, Replace, or New Revision and the Change-To Part is populated for the selected line in the main screen. Use this subtask to view and update the Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) assemblies that use the original part. If there are MBOMs that use this component in Costpoint Bills of Material, the screen will default the existing assembly parts without the Action Code.
This field displays the change-to part ID from the main screen.
This field displays the change-to part revision from the main screen.
This field displays the change-to part description from the Manage Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the change-to part status from the main screen.
This field displays the default inventory unit of measure code for the change-to part from the main screen.
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the replacement part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the change-to part is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
Click this button to load the MBOM change-to assembly parts.
If the Action Code for the selected line on the main screen is Add or Replace and the Original Part is a component in an MBOM assembly, the Change-To Part displays in the Component Part field, but those assemblies in which the Original Part is a component display in the table window without an Action Code. If the Replace in All BOMs column is Y for the selected line in the main screen and you open this subtask, the system displays the following message:
"Warning: Modifications made on this screen may overwrite modifications created by the Replace in BOM function."
This warning means that if you modify this subtask, only those modifications will be saved for the affected assembly, even if the Replace in All BOMs check box is selected for the selected line on the main screen. However, if you do not add a line or modify an existing line in this subtask, the Change-To Part will replace the Original Part in all MBOMs where the Original Part exists as a component. In this case, all MBOM assemblies and configurations from the original part/revision in the main screen will be copied based on the starting and ending effective dates once you have run the Apply Engineering Change Notices application.
From the drop-down list, select the action this ECN will perform, either Add, Change, or Delete. The default is Add for newly added lines or lines that are copied from another assembly.
Enter, or click to select, line number to identify the specific MBOM component line in this field.
Enter, or click to select, the drawing find number of this MBOM component line in this field. Upon populating the Line field for a new line, this field will default with zeroes, but it can be modified. For example, if you enter 3 in the Line field, the Find field will default to 0003.
Enter, or click to select, the ID of the assembly part that uses the component part displayed in the header. This field must contain a valid part ID from the Manage Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition. If the Original Part for the selected line in the main screen is a component in an MBOM assembly, this field displays the assembly part. You can add new assembly parts.
Enter, or click to select, the assembly part revision that uses this component. This field must contain a valid revision code from the Manage Parts screen.
This field displays the assembly part description.
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the assembly part is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
From the drop-down list, select the component type code. Valid options are:
Buy With Component
Standard
Phantom
Reference
Tool
Deleted
The default is the component part type from the Manage Parts screen.
From the drop-down list, select the enter the quantity type code. Valid options:
Per Assembly
As Required
Per Order
This field is for the component part. If you have selected the As Required check box on the Manage Parts screen for the component part, or the Component Type is Reference, the default for this field is As Required. If the Component Type is Tool, the default for this field is Per Order. Otherwise, the default is Per Assembly.
Enter the component part quantity required in the MBOM. The default is 1. If the Quantity Type is As Required, the default is zero. If you enter a number other than zero, the system displays an error message.
From the drop-down list, select the option that indicates whether the component is to manufactured or purchased. Valid options are:
Make — if the component is to be manufactured
Buy — f the component is to be purchased
The default is the component part's make/buy designation from the Manage Parts screen.
Enter, or click to select, the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this MBOM. If you make an entry, it must be a valid BOM Configuration ID from the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen in Costpoint Bills of Material. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
This field displays the configuration description from the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.
Enter, or click to select, the date on which this component will become effective in this MBOM. This field defaults with the Suggested Effective Date on the Details tab of the main screen, or the Effective Date (from the selected line on the main screen) if the Suggested Effective Date is null. This field defaults with the current system date if both the Suggested Effective Date and Effective Date are null.
Enter, or click to select, the date on which this component will cease being effective in this MBOM. This field defaults with the MBOM component's Effective Ending Date. If this date is earlier than the effective starting date, the system displays an error message. If this date is earlier than the current date but later than the effective starting date, a warning message displays.
Select this check box to release this component in this MBOM. The default value is determined by the option selected in the MBOM Release Control - Default Component Release Status in Bill group box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters of any comments that apply to this MBOM component. This field displays any comments already entered for the MBOM component.
If you did not select the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen, enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters of reference designator text for this component on this assembly. This field is optional. However, if you selected the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box, you can enter up to 32,000 alphanumeric characters. This field displays any reference designator text that was assigned to the component part line in the Component Reference Designators subtask of the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material or Release Manufacturing Bills of Materials screen.
This field displays the assembly part release code from the MBOM Status field on the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material or Release Manufacturing Bills of Materials screen.
Released
Partially Released
Unreleased
This field displays the assembly part status type from the Manage Parts screen. You can also modify the Part Status for the MBOM on the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material or Release Manufacturing Bills of Materials screen.
Select this check box to prevent material planning processes from planning this component. If the component is a Buy part, and the Component Type is not Buy With Component, this check box defaults as selected. If the Component Type is Reference or Tool, this check box is also selected by default.
Select this check box to prevent material planning processes from planning any components of this subassembly part. If the Component Type is Reference or Tool, this check box defaults as selected.
Enter the anticipated scrap percentage used when planning material requirements. The default is the component part scrap percentage from the Manage Parts screen.
Select this check box to copy all other original MBOM data to a new line. You can only select this check box for the lines that have been loaded from a copied MBOM.
