Warranty Information

What can I do in this subtask?

Use this subtask to store information used to calculate item warranty costs. You can also define the item warranty cost information by date range.

When should I use this subtask?

You can add warranty records in this subtask, as needed.

Field Descriptions

Warranty Codes

Manufacturer or External

Enter, or use Lookup to select, up to six alphanumeric characters to identify the manufacturer or external source's warranty code.  The data in the Lookup originates from the Warranty Information screen (Materials\Configure\Sales Orders).

Reseller or Internal

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the reseller or internal warranty code.

Calculate Warranty Costs based on

Percentage of Sales

Select this radio button to calculate the warranty costs based on the percentage of sales.

Cost Schedule

Select this radio button to calculate the warranty costs based on the cost schedule. If you select this radio button, you must enter at least one record in the Warranty Information table window.

Enter Percentage of sales to calculate warranty costs

If you selected the Percentage of Sales radio button, enter the percentage used to calculate the warranty costs. If you selected the Cost Schedule radio button, this field will be non-editable.

Warranty Information

Estimated Warranty Cost Per Unit *

Enter the estimated warranty cost per unit for this item.

Starting Date *

Enter, or use Calendar Lookup to select, the starting date on which the warranty cost per unit will become effective.

This date represents the starting date on which this warranty cost should be charged.

Ending Date *

Enter, or use Calendar Lookup to select, the ending date on which this warranty cost will become obsolete.

This date represents the ending date that this warranty cost per unit will become ineffective.
