Serial Lot Information

What can I do in this tab?

Use the fields in this tab to establish tracking requirements for parts within inventory and sales orders.

When should I use this tab?

Use this tab to enable the serial/lot tracking capabilities for the Costpoint client/server Materials module for the Sales Order Entry screens.

Field Descriptions

Inventory Tracking Required

In this group box, you can enable the serial/lot tracking capabilities in the Costpoint client/server Materials module for the Inventory screens.

Lot

Select this checkbox to use Lot Configuration Tracking in the Costpoint client/server Materials module for the Inventory screens.

Serial

Select this checkbox to use Serial Configuration Tracking in the Costpoint client/server Materials module for the Inventory screens.

Sales Order Tracking Required

In this group box, you can enable the serial/lot tracking capabilities for the Sales Order Entry screens and assign serial/lot numbers, if they are assigned by part number.

Note: The U/M (Unit of Measure) Code for "Selling" U/M Types must be "EA" (Each) in the Units of Measure subtask of the Basic Info screen of the Parts User Flow screen if Sales Order Configuration Serial Tracking is required.
 

Lot

Select this checkbox to use Lot Configuration Tracking in the Costpoint client/server Materials module for the Sales Order Entry screens.

Serial

Select this checkbox to use Serial Configuration Tracking in the Costpoint client/server Materials module for the Sales Order Entry screens.

These fields, located beneath the Inventory Tracking Required and Sales Order Tracking Required group boxes, are enabled at all times and are required if the user wants to automatically assign new lot and/or serial number by part.

Last Lot Number

Enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters for, or use Lookup to select, the last lot number that will be used for this part, if applicable.

Last Serial Number

Enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters for, or use Lookup to select, the last serial number that will be used for this part, if applicable.

Table Information

Changes to this screen update the PART (Part) table.
