Substitute Parts

What can I do in this screen?

Use this subtask to establish a list of substitute parts for any part you've already created.

A substitute part is similar enough to be interchangeable with one or more internal/original parts without alteration. Substitute parts are used in the Project Requirements screen link and the Part Project Data screen (Materials\Maintain\Items) for materials planning purposes, as well as other applicable functions throughout Costpoint.

Note: You must first establish the substitute part in the Basic Info screen of the Parts User Flow before you can enter any additional information for it in this screen.

When should I use this screen?

Use this screen after initialization of new parts and entering planning data. Maintain it when you make additions or changes to substitute parts.
