The User Configuration feature lets you customize screen layouts and save them, so that you can see the modified layout when you access the screen again.
You can customize and save the following layout properties of any screen:
Screen position and size
Default view (table or form)
Order, width, and number of fenced columns for table view result sets
Maximum number of new and existing rows to display in table view
Depending on your user rights, you may also have the ability to create customized screen layouts for all users in the company. In this case, in addition to the "My Configuration" options described below, you will also see "All Users in This Company" options. Users can set personal configurations to override the company-level configurations. |
Position the cursor within a column heading. The cursor changes to a positioning icon. Click and drag the cursor left or right to move the column to the desired position.
Position the cursor over the vertical line that divides the columns in the column heading. The cursor changes to a sliding icon. Click and drag the cursor left or right to adjust the column width.
To change the number of fenced columns, number of rows, and the default view, click the User Configuration icon on the toolbar. (You can also select Options » User Configuration from the Application Menu Options Bar to display the dialog options.) Select Modify My Configuration. This opens a configuration window for the current screen. The current screen's name is also the title of the configuration window.
Enter the number of columns you would like to "fence" when in table view. A fenced column is locked against horizontal scrolling. For example, if you enter 3 in this field, the first three columns on the left of the table remain in place as you scroll the rest of the table to the right. This allows you to see important information, such as line number for each line, at all times.
The fields in this group box let you specify the number of existing and new rows to display in table view. (You must exit the screen and reopen it before these changes take effect.)
Enter the maximum number of rows of existing (previously saved) records to display in table view. (Existing rows are loaded using the query function.)
Enter the maximum number of rows for new (not yet saved) records to display in table view.
Select either Form View or Table View to designate the view that is displayed when you first access this screen.
To save the new layout, click the User Configuration icon on the toolbar. (You can also select Options » User Configuration from the Application Menu Options Bar to display the dialog options.) Then click Save My Configuration to prompt the system to "remember" your settings. You may save settings for just the currently selected result set, or for the application. The system saves these settings, and restores them each time you access the result set or application again. The settings are in effect for all companies that you can access.
If you save the configuration for the application, only the configurations for the currently open (visible) result sets on the screen are saved. |
To delete a configuration and restore the default screen layout, click the User Configuration icon on the toolbar. (You can also select Options » User Configuration from the Application Menu Options Bar to display the dialog options.) Then click Reset My Configuration. The default settings are restored next time you access this screen.
