MAINTAIN USER OVERRIDE RIGHTS

Use this screen to assign module and function rights to users by company. These rights override the group module and function rights. If no user module and function rights are assigned to a user, then the group settings will be in effect for that user.

If you select the Use Web Security model for Client/Server option in the System Settings (Others » System Administration » System Settings) screen, the information you set up in this screen is not applicable. The system uses the information set up in the WEB application. A message displays:

Warning: Web security rights are being used as specified in the System Settings screen. Client Server security rights maintained in this application are not applicable.

The modules are listed in the order in which they appear on the Navigate screen.

Enter information in this screen whenever you want a user's rights to differ from the user's group rights.

User

Enter, or use to select, a User ID to whom you wish to assign module and/or function rights that are different than the User Group to which they belong for this company.  The user name displays in the untitled field to the right.

You can also use or to select a user.

The user's group ID and group name are displayed in these non-editable fields.

This non-editable field only displays if you also have Costpoint Web enabled and if the Enforce Segregation of Duties Rules checkbox is selected in the Corporate Settings subtask of the System Settings screen in the web version. One of the following status statements populates the field:

Select Functions

Click this button to open the Select Functions subtask, which you can use to give users the right to execute Costpoint functions when the user has override rights of "P" (Partial) or "O" (Optimistic partial) for this module.

The User Module Rights always override the Group Module Rights, unless the User Module Rights are partial or optimistic and the Group Module Rights are partial or optimistic.  In this case, rights are a combination of both the User and Group function rights (if function rights are not found, full rights will be given if the User Module Right is optimistic, and no rights will be given if the User Module Right is partial).
