Use this screen to specify a part number, other part attributes, or a project and view current inventory, order, requisition reservation, and planning data for the selected part(s) and project(s). If multiple revisions are available for the part, the inquiry can show this information for all of them. You can either use Subquery to select parameters for the parts you want to review or enter information in the search criteria fields and select one of the radio buttons to show how you want selections to match. In the latter case, use the Execute pushbutton on the toolbar to populate your table.
If you are not using Subquery, populate any field in this group box to view matching part/project information for that field, and click Execute. For example, if you populate the Desc field with a "C," select the Begin With radio button, and execute the query, all applicable inventory parts (i.e., inventory parts included in a purchase order, reservation, or other planning capacity) that have a description beginning with the letter "C" display in the table window.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the part ID you wish to view inventory information for. If you do not select the "Exact Match" setting for the Part/Project Selection Criteria option, you can enter a partial part number value and have Costpoint return inventory for all part IDs that meet the selection criteria value. If you leave this field blank, Costpoint will not use part ID as a criterion for selecting which inventory information to display.
This field automatically displays the last revision assigned to the part ID. However, you can enter, or use Lookup to select, another revision for this part ID or leave the field blank to view inventory information for all revisions of the selected part(s).
This field displays the default or inventory unit of measure for the selected part (if only one part was selected).
Use the drop-down box to select the "Make/Buy" status for the part. If you leave this field blank, both are selected.
If you select a status in this field, Costpoint selects only the parts that share the same make/buy code. Make/Buy codes are defined in the Basic Part Data screen in Product Definition. If you leave this field blank, Costpoint does not select parts by make/buy code.
If you want to narrow your search by the part's description, enter a description in this field, select a radio button in the Part ID/Project Selection Criteria group box to show how you want selections matched, and then click the Execute button on the toolbar. If you select a specific part in the header screen, the description field automatically defaults.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the planner ID you wish to view inventory information for. If you specify a planner in this field, Costpoint checks the Planner Assignment value in Production Control Settings to determine how to select inventory rows.
If you assign planners by part, it includes inventory information for all parts assigned the entered planner ID.
If you assign planners by commodity code, it includes inventory information for all parts that have commodity codes assigned the entered planner ID.
If you assign planners by project, it includes inventory information for all projects assigned the entered planner ID.
If you assign planners by netting group, it includes inventory information for all projects linked to the netting groups assigned the entered planner ID.
To limit the inquiry to inventory for a particular project, enter, or use Lookup to select, the project ID. The project name automatically displays in the blank field to the right of the project ID. If you do not select the "Exact Match" Part/Project Selection Criteria option, you can enter a partial project number value and have Costpoint return inventory for all project IDs that meet the selection criteria value.
To limit the inquiry to an inventory for a particular netting group, enter, or use Lookup to select, the netting group ID. Netting groups are a group of inventory projects that will be planned together. Projects are assigned to netting groups in the Inventory Projects screen in the Inventory module.
Use the radio buttons in this group box to specify how you want your selections to match part, part description and project fields. Options are "Exact Match," "Begin With," "End With," and "Contains."
This checkbox appears if you did not select the Separate Items by Company checkbox in the Product Definition Corporate Settings subtask of the Product Definition Settings screen. If you selected the Separate Items by Company checkbox, this checkbox is hidden and you only see inventory for the company you are currently logged into.
Select this checkbox to include inventory from other companies (in addition to inventory that is assigned to the company you are currently logged into) in the result set. If this checkbox is not selected, only those parts for the selected projects that are linked to your company ID display in the result set.
Select this checkbox if you do not want to see inventory records that currently have zero quantities for all inventory, on-order, on-req, reserved and owed.
