Use this application to locate a component part as it is used in a Proposal Bill of Material (PBOM). You can locate both standard and provisional parts in this inquiry. You can view only one component part/ revision at a time, and you can select the number of assembly levels to display and which configurations to include. The component must exist at a specified level of the PBOM.
The fields in this group box provide basic information about the component.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Prov Part Lookup pushbutton to select, the component part ID of the PBOM you would like to view. This required field can have up to 30 alphanumeric characters and must be a valid part number from Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition. A description of the part will display in the untitled field below the part ID. Select the Execute button in the toolbar at the top of the screen to populate the table window with the PBOM line rows in which the entered part is a component.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Prov Part Lookup pushbutton to select, the assembly or parent part revision of the PBOM to be viewed based on the BOM type. This field can have up to three alphanumeric characters and must be a valid revision number for the part from the Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition.
Use the options in this group box to specify whether the inquiry will contain the first-level where-used assemblies of the component, the entire where-used BOM through all the levels, or an indented where-used BOM through a specified number of levels.
Select this radio button to view only the first-level assemblies of this component.
Select this radio button to view all assemblies of this component with their related level numbers.
Choose this radio button to view an indented where-used BOM through a specified number of levels, as entered in the adjacent field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a proposal ID/revision if you want to view PBOM information only for a specific proposal. This is an optional field. When you execute the inquiry, only those PBOM line rows in which the entered part is listed as a component, and are linked to the entered proposal, will be displayed in the table window. The proposal name displays to the right of these fields. If you do not enter a proposal ID and you execute the inquiry, all PBOM rows in which the component part is listed will display.
This table window displays the proposal, PBOM, and assembly part information in which the component part exists.
These respective fields display the ID, revision (if applicable), and name of the proposal in which the component is listed for the BOM assembly. These fields will not display when you execute the inquiry if you entered the Proposal ID along with the Part.
This field displays the level(s) of the component’s assemblies in accordance with your selection in the BOM Type group box. This field is hidden if you execute the inquiry with the Single-Level radio button selected, and only the first-level assemblies for the selected part display. This field displays the line number that identifies the specific PBOM assembly line.
This field displays the drawing find number for this PBOM assembly line.
This field displays the assembly part ID for this PBOM line in which the component exists.
This field displays the assembly part revision for this PBOM line.
This field displays the description of the assembly part/revision.
This field displays the provisional part type code that is assigned to the assembly part, if it is a provisional part. Establish Provisional Part Types in the Provisional Part Types screen in the Materials Estimating Controls menu, or in the Product Definition Controls menu in Costpoint Product Definition, and maintain them in the Maintain Provisional Parts screen. If the assembly part is a standard part, this field will remain null.
This field displays the component type code for the assembly line: "B" (Buy with Components), "S" (Standard), "P" (Phantom), "R" (Reference), and "T" (Tool).
This field displays the quantity type code from the assembly line: "A" (Per Assembly), "O" (Per Order), and "R" (As Required). A value of "A" means the component quantity will be multiplied by the number of the assembly to be created. A value of "O" means the component quantity will be required for each assembly manufacturing or purchase order created. A value of "R" means that component requirements will not be generated for this component.
This field displays the default inventory unit of measure for the assembly part.

This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the component.
This field displays the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the component (provisional) part from the Maintain Proposal BOM screen. The WBS in the Maintain Proposal BOM screen is an optional field for keeping track of the provisional part and assembly part for the job or project. You can link each PBOM to a user-defined WBS)code for additional sorting and rollup options.
