EMPLOYEE DEPENDENT CARE FSA ELECTIONS

Use this screen to set up the actual plan year election amount for each employee who is participating in dependent care flexible spending account plan. In addition, you can open a subtask from this screen to update the Employee Deductions table with the correct deduction amount for this election.

You cannot access this screen unless you selected the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts checkbox in the Benefit Settings screen in Costpoint Benefits. You will use this screen when you need to enter new employee elections for dependent care flexible spending accounts, or when you need to update existing elections. You must set up dependent care flexible spending account records before you can link them with employees in this screen.

Employee

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the ID number of the employee for whom you want to set up dependent care FSA elections. Your entry will be validated against the Employee table in the Basic Employee Info screen. The name of the employee is displayed in the field to the right of the ID. This is a required field.

Plan Year

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the plan year for which you want to set up dependent care FSA elections. Your entry will be validated against the Dependent FSA Setup table. When you enter this year, the start date displays in the field to the right of the year and the end date displays in the To field. These fields are required.

Dependent FSA

Use this group box to enter the amount and the deduction start date for the plan year.

Election Amount

Enter the actual dollar amount this employee has elected for dependent care expenses for this plan year; you can enter an amount up to "9,999,999.99." this amount must be less than or equal to the plan year maximum amount for the entered year in the Dependent Care FSA Setup screen in Costpoint Benefits. This field is required.

Start Date

Enter the date, in MM/DD/YYYY format, on which deductions of the election amount for this employee are to begin. The date must be within the date range of the plan year. This field is required.

Update Deduction

Select this pushbutton to open a subtask where you can update the Employee Deductions table with the deduction amount for this employee's dependent care FSA election. The pushbutton is enabled only when you have entered the Employee, Plan Year, Election Amount, and Start Date.

Table Information

Changes to this screen update the HB_EMPL_FSA_ELEC table.
