In this screen, you can set up cycles that will be used for Recurring Journal Entries (RJEs). Each RJE must belong to one and only one JE Cycle. In addition, an RJE has a starting and ending period and subperiod. In the Link to Periods subtask, you will define the periods and subperiods belonging to each cycle.
For example, you can set up a cycle of "Monthly," then assign the first subperiod of each month to it. Another example is "Quarterly," where you can assign the last subperiod of each quarter to the cycle.
In the Create Recurring JEs screen, you must indicate the JE Cycle for which you need to create RJEs. When posting, the system reads the Journal Entry table to see which RJEs have the JE Cycle you indicate. You must also indicate the Period and Subperiod for which you need to create RJEs.
You must first set up the Fiscal Years, Accounting Periods, and Subperiods screens before you can initialize JE Cycles. You must establish JE Cycles before you can enter RJEs.
To add a new cycle, enter a descriptive code of up to 15 alphanumeric characters.
Select this checkbox to indicate that this cycle is the default cycle. Only one cycle can be selected as the default. Choose the cycle you use the most. This way, you will only have to change the cycle when an RJE requires a cycle other than the default.
Use this pushbutton to open the Link to Periods subtask, where you can define the periods and subperiods belonging to a given JE Cycle.
