Use this screen to release multiple MBOMs simultaneously. This screen displays all standard part assemblies with an MBOM release status of "Unreleased" or "Partially Released" in both the Maintain MBOM and Release MBOM screens. You can change the MBOM status and the part status of the assembly in the MBOM Status and Part Status fields in the main table window. The data is sorted in assembly part/revision order. You can use Subquery to further refine the result set. Use the Components subtask to view all component information for a selected assembly.
Assemblies with an MBOM release status of "Unreleased" or "Partially Released" must be in both the Maintain MBOM and Release MBOM screens. Use this screen to view all unreleased MBOMs and selectively release multiple MBOMs.
These fields display the assembly part ID, applicable revision number and part description for the MBOM assembly.
This field displays the release status of the MBOM for the assembly part. You can modify this required field to one of three options: "R" (Released), "P" (Partially Released), or "U" (Unreleased). The Part Status must be "R" (Released), "O" (Obsolete), or "S" (Phase-out) before the MBOM Status can be "R" (Released). Similarly, if the component part is an MBOM subassembly (i.e., the Subassembly field is "Y" in the Components subtask), the BOM Status field and the Release Comp field in the Components subtask must be "R" and "Y" (Released), respectively, before you can release the MBOM. If the component part is not a subassembly, the Release Comp field must be "Y" (Released), and the Component Part Status must be "Released," "Obsolete," or " Phase-out" before the assembly's MBOM Status can be "R" (Released). If the Component Part Status is "Pre-release" or "Estimating," use the Basic Part Data screen, Maintain MBOM screen, or Release MBOM screen to change the part status.
If you change this field to "R" (Released) and non-subassembly, unreleased component parts exist (i.e., the Component BOM Status column and the Release Comp field are both "N" in the Components subtask) whose Component Part Status is "Released," "Obsolete," or " Phase-out," the system will display a message asking whether you would like to release these components. Select OK to do so, and the components will be released only when the record is saved (i.e., the Release Comp column will change to "Y"). If you change this field to "R" (Released) and try to save the record while the component's Component BOM Status column is "Unreleased," the system will display a warning indicating that the MBOM cannot be released (along with a list of the components' part/revision numbers) because the component part is an unreleased subassembly. You must change the component's BOM Status to "Released" in the Maintain MBOM or Release MBOM screen. You must release lower-level assemblies before the higher-level assemblies on a given multi-level MBOM.
This field displays the release status of the assembly part. You can modify this required field to one of five options: "E" (Estimating), "O" (Obsolete), "P" (Pre-release), "R" (Released), and "S" (Phase-out) by entering, or using Lookup to select, a new part status. The value in this field is linked to the Part Status Type field in the Basic Part Data screen (in Costpoint Product Definition) and to the Part Status fields in the Maintain MBOM and Release MBOM screens. The assembly part's status must be "R" (Released), "O" (Obsolete), or "S" (Phase-out) before the MBOM Status can be "R" (Released). You cannot release MBOMs if the Part Status field is "P" (Pre-release) or "E" (Estimating).
This field displays the assembly Part Type code from Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition: "B" (Buy with Components), "S" (Standard), "P" (Phantom), "R" (Reference), and "T" (Tool).
This field displays the inventory unit of measure for the assembly.
This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the assembly.
This field displays any free-form text notes about the assembly.
This field displays the date and time of the most recent change made to the assembly part.
The user ID of the person who made the most recent change to the assembly part displays in this field.
This system-maintained field displays the code representing the method used for the most recent change to the MBOM. This field will display one of the following codes:
"M" (Manual) is assigned when a user-defined change has occurred for the MBOM record in either the Maintain MBOM or Release MBOM screens.
"E" (ECN-Engineering Change Notice) is assigned when a change has occurred for the MBOM record as it relates to Costpoint Engineering Change Notices.
"C" (Clone MBOM) is assigned when the MBOM was copied from another existing MBOM using the Clone function.
"S" (Mass Component Change) is assigned when a mass component change has occurred for this MBOM record in the Perform Mass Component Change screen.
"V" (Provisional Part Conversion) is assigned when a provisional part has been converted to a standard part using the Convert Provisional Part To Standard Part screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
"G" (Copy from EBOM) is assigned when an MBOM is copied from an EBOM using the Copy Bills of Material screen.
"P" (Copy from PBOM) is assigned when an MBOM is copied from a PBOM using the Copy Bills of Material screen.
This field displays the user ID of the person who first entered the assembly into the system.
If the selected part exists as an EBOM assembly part, this field displays the release status of the EBOM as either "R" (Released) or "U" (Unreleased). If the part is not an EBOM assembly, this field will display "N" (Not applicable) for the line.
If the EBOM Release Status field displays "R," this field displays the date on which the EBOM was released in the system. If the EBOM Release Status field displays "N" or "U," this field will be blank.
If the EBOM Release Status field is populated, this field displays the latest date on which a change occurred to the EBOM, if applicable. If the EBOM Release Status field is "N," this field will be blank.

The information in this screen is stored in the PART table. Information is also stored in and/or pulled from the MFG_BOM, ITEM, PART, S_PART_TYPE, and ITEM_UM tables. Functions for the Release Multiple Manufacturing BOMs screen are also dependent on the BOM_SETTINGS and BOM_SETTINGS_CORP tables.
