Promoting Feedback

To speed up the feedback cycle, you can promote feedback by copying feedback from a previous version to the current version of an Asset. Promoted feedback can then be flagged, resolved, or discussed further.

Promote feedback to:
  • Ensure that requested changes on the previous version were incorporated into the current version.
  • Enable collaboration on a single comment to span Asset versions.
  • Make feedback that has been vetoed in a previous version visible in the current version, which can help prevent repetitive discussion.
  • Allow draft (unpublished) feedback from a previous version to be promoted to the current version.
  • Enable reviewers to verify that critical change requests are incorporated into the current version.

Exception Notes

  • Spanned frames on videos that have been reduced will align with matching time points.
  • A video that is shorter than the span will have the span proportionally reduced.
  • If you promote feedback from a page that no longer has a matching page number in the newest version, it will be applied to the last page.
  • If feedback was given in a two-page view and the newest version has fewer pages, the system will shuffle to try to maintain the same two-page display. For instance, including a cover page to keep the display aligned.
  • Copy Review and Text Search tools cannot retain the markups on promoted feedback.
Note: ConceptShare displays the following notification message: "Feedback promoted with exclusions. Please note that text highlighting by the Copy Review and Text Search tools is not preserved in promoted feedback."
  • The system will place reference link markers to indicate where the successful points were for the text search.
  • You can edit promoted feedback before or after publishing to repeat the text search.
  • Editing feedback enables you to move feedback to a new page.
  • While a comment is pending, it is visible only to the comment author and the promoter.
