Promoting Feedback Items: Frequently Asked Questions

This topic answers frequently asked questions about promoting feedback.

  1. Can I promote feedback more than once?

A: Yes. You can promote any feedback item to the current version as many times as you like.

  2. Will other users see promoted feedback that has a pending status?

A: Promoted feedback that has a pending status is visible only to the promoter and the author of the feedback.

  3. Can anyone promote draft feedback to the current version?

A: No. Draft feedback can be promoted to the current Asset version only by its author.

  4. Will promoted feedback have a timestamp?

A: Yes. ConceptShare displays the date and time from when the feedback was first submitted.

  5. Can I promote feedback to another version apart from the current version?

A: No. You can promote only to the current version.

  6. Can I promote feedback from a video Asset to a document Asset?

A: No. You can promote feedback only between Asset versions of the same type.

If you accidentally uploaded an Asset type that is different from the original version, versioning again with the original Asset type lets you promote the comment to the current version. For example, V1 Document, V2 Image, V3 Document means you can promote feedback from V1 to V3.

You can promote from any previous version (not just the most recent) to the current version.

  7. Does selecting the Rendering an Asset for compatibility with older browsers option change the Asset?

A: No. Selecting this will not change the Asset type but will disable the text search and copy Review tools in the Proofing Workspace.

  8. Can I promote an Asset version from one Review to another Review?

A: No. Only Asset versions included in the Review itself will be accessible for promoting feedback.

  9. How reliable are the results?

A: Promoting will align feedback the best possible way without analyzing the Asset content.

  10. What permissions need to be enabled for users to promote feedback?

A: Several permissions must be enabled before you can start promoting feedback.

The new Project Role permission is automatically enabled for Project Administrators. If you are an Administrator, you can manually apply this permission to any custom role that you create.
    Note:
    • Publishing your own promoted feedback requires Promote and Edit Comment permissions.
    • Publishing any promoted feedback requires Promote and Edit all Comment permissions.
