Access Control Tab of the Project Properties Dialog Box
Use this tab to manage user and group access to the project and to assign control countries to specific users and groups.
Authorized Control Countries Grid
Use this grid to assign country-specific access permissions to users and groups for the selected project.
This grid is available only when the Enable Authorized Control Countries Validation option is selected on the Settings tab of the Systems form in PPM Administrator. If countries have already been assigned to the project and the option is later cleared, this grid is hidden but the assigned countries are retained. When the option is selected again, the grid becomes available and the previously assigned countries are redisplayed.
Only the project owner and members of the SYSADMIN group are permitted to manage the Authorized Control Countries (ACC) list. The grid is disabled for all other users, including those with project access or owner delegate rights.
Use the Add button to display the Lookup dialog box and select countries to include in the ACC list. Use the Remove button to delete a country from the list.
Access Control List Grid
Use this grid to enable users or groups to access the selected project or to modify access control list (ACL) settings for those who already have access.
Access control settings for users and groups are initially defined in the New Project Wizard when a project is created. Each access control entry supports a read-only flag, which the project owner—or a member of the SYSADMIN group—can use to override the default access rights assigned to a specific user, group, or role.
If the Authorized Control Countries (ACC) feature is enabled, the guidelines for assigning users and groups to the project's ACLs based on ACC assignments apply.
- After you update the ACC grid and click OK, Cobra automatically validates that all users and groups listed in the grid, as well as the project owner, have at least one ACC assignment that matches the project’s ACC. If any entry does not match, Cobra displays a validation error message and prevents saving.
- The WORLD group is only displayed in the Groups Lookup dialog box if the project’s ACC is empty and the Disable WORLD Group setting is not selected in PPM Administrator.
- If the project's ACC is not empty, the Users Lookup or Groups Lookup dialog box displays only users or groups with at least one ACC assignment that matches the project's ACC.
To validate and update the project’s ACL based on the latest ACC assignments in PPM Administrator, you must log into Cobra, manually add or remove the affected users or groups from the project’s ACL on this tab, and then click OK.
This step ensures that the ACL aligns with the latest ACC configuration in PPM Administrator.
