Configuration settings determine a number of important Capture Analytics characteristics. They also affect what data is loaded from GovWin Capture Management and how that data is transformed for the analytics. Generally, once you select the initial configuration settings, you only need to change those settings if you decide that your original selection is not what you want or, in some cases, if data changes in GovWin Capture Management. Capture Analytics includes a configuration application that you use to specify the configuration settings. |
In this topicProcedure: Specify Configuration Options for Capture Analytics Configuration Settings for Capture Analytics Security for Capture Analytics Configuration
|
To specify Capture Analytics configuration settings, complete the following steps:
On the server on which you installed Costpoint Analytics, go to the <installation location>\Admin folder.
Run CRM_Analytics_System_Config.qvw to open Capture Analytics Configuration.
Click Update from CRM or Previous Configuration.
Capture Analytics imports data from GovWin Capture Management that you need in order to specify configuration settings (the list of opportunity stages, for example). When this process is completed, you receive a message that confirms that the GovWin Capture Management data has been imported successfully into Capture Analytics Configuration.
Use Capture Analytics Configuration to specify the configuration settings you want. Click periodically to save your work.
Click Save Settings for Capture Analytics Data Model Build.
When this process is completed, Capture Analytics displays a message that confirms that the settings have been updated successfully.
If you have unsaved entries, click to save them in CRM_Analytics_System_Config.qvw.
When you have saved the settings in Capture Analytics Configuration, you are ready to run the process to update the data model and load data.
Before you load opportunity data into Capture Analytics the first time, you set the configuration settings listed in the table below for Capture Analytics.
Note: To make it easier to locate information about a setting, they are listed below in alphabetical order, and that is the sequence in which the related topics appear in this guide. The settings appear on the Capture Analytics Configuration tab itself in a different order. However, while some settings are related, in most cases you are not required to actually specify the settings in a particular sequence.

After the implementation is complete and you make Capture Analytics generally available to users, changes to configuration settings should be minimal.
In most cases, if you make a configuration change, you can implement that change by running Load_CRM_Data.bat to do a full load of GovWin Capture Management opportunity data based on the new configuration. Load_CRM_Data.bat updates the Capture Analytics data model without updating the Costpoint Analytics data models, if your firm also has Costpoint Analytics.
Capture Analytics provides no internal security for the configuration applications and related administrative files. Be sure that only the appropriate persons have access to the network folders in which you installed Capture Analytics.
