The Risks list in Projects at Risk Analytics displays the types of risk for which there is at least one at-risk project for the latest fiscal period in the analysis period. In addition, it displays the following for each risk reason:
Number of projects at risk for that reason
Amount that is at risk
The risk reasons are listed in descending order by at-risk amount. If you want to focus on one reason or a selected group of reasons, select them in the Risks list.
If you change the analysis period or you use other lists to filter the analytics, the risk reason information in the Risks list changes accordingly. For example, if you select an organization, the list only displays the risk reasons for which there is at least one at-risk project for that organization. The numbers of at-risk projects and at-risk amounts in the list also change to reflect the organization filter.
Deltek provides a set of standard risk reasons for Projects at Risk Analytics. Your system administrator selects from that set the risks that your firm wants to monitor. Those are the only risk reasons that Costpoint Analytics tracks.
Note, however, that the Risks list only includes risk reasons for which projects exist that are at risk. As a result, if you filter the analytics, a risk reason may disappear from the list because the filter has excluded all of the at-risk projects for that risk reason.
For descriptions of the standard risk reasons, see Available Risk Reasons.
The number of at-risk projects for each risk reason is the number of risk-level projects that are at risk for that reason. Thus, one top-level project could have multiple lower-level projects that are at risk.
The at-risk amount for each risk reason is the total amount that all at-risk projects fall short of the target amount your firm defined for that risk reason.
The counts of at-risk projects and the at-risk amounts in the Risks list are always as of the latest fiscal period in your analysis period.
For more information on how Costpoint Analytics determines the projects that are at risk and calculates the at-risk amounts, see Projects at Risk Analytics: Key Concepts.
