Use iAccess on a Tablet

When you access iAccess on a tablet, the appearance is much the same as on a laptop computer. However, primarily because of the absence of a mouse and the smaller screen size, how you interact with iAccess on a tablet differs somewhat from how you interact with it on a laptop.

Notes and Tips for Tablet Users

• iAccess is optimized for use on the iPad and on 10" Android tablets. You can use it on smaller devices but you may need to zoom or scroll more because of the reduced screen size.
• The only browsers supported on tablets are Safari for the iPad and Chrome for Android tablets.
• In general, if instructions in the iAccess help indicate that you should click to perform some action, tap instead.
• In general, if instructions in the iAccess help indicate that you should hover over an object or area, tap that object or area instead.
• If you have trouble tapping a small screen object, you can zoom in temporarily to make the tap target larger.
• To place the focus in a field so you can enter data, tap the field.
• To enter a date, tap and select the date.
• To enter a value in a numeric or alphanumeric field, tap in the field to display a keyboard, and enter the value using the keyboard.
• When the current view cannot display all available information or options, scroll indicators display. Tap the scroll indicators to scroll other information or options into view.
• To scroll horizontally in a grid, either swipe across an empty white space within the grid, or use a two-finger swipe.
• To resize the width of a column in a grid, press and drag in the space between the heading for that column and the heading for the column next to it. As you begin to drag, a column separator line displays.
• If you are working in a grid that is divided into two resizable sections and you want to resize the sections, press and drag the grid separator located between the sections.
