Revenue Recognition report

Use this report to:

  • Compare the revenue and profitability of multiple projects
  • Summarize project information by their respective project managers, status, or date range
  • Drill down to project labor, expense, and consulting revenue
  • Identify profitable projects to use as a model for bidding future work

Before you begin

To view the Revenue Recognition Report

  1. From the > Reports menu, click the Project > Revenue Recognition option.
  2. You can filter this report by selecting the following options:
    • CompanyMulti-company only. Select a specific company.

    • Project: Select a specific project.
    • Date range: Select a specific time period or a date range.
  1. Click to determine how the report appears by selecting the following options. You can save your choices as the report's default view or custom view.
    • Report title
    • Sort order
    • Project status
    • Include premium time in profit calculation, labor, expenses, consultants
    • Drill down ability
    • Print customized options on reports
  1. Click to print the report.

Report Options

Option Description
Company Multi-company only. The report contains information for all companies in your organization, unless you select a specific company in this field.
Project The report contains information for all projects for the period selected, unless you select a specific project in this field.
Date Range The report contains information for the current month unless you select a different time period in this field.

Customize options

Option Description
Report title You can change the title of the report.
Sort order Sorts the report by project, project manager, billing manager, principal-in-charge, project type, client, or department. If you use multi-company, you can also sort by company.
Project status Prints all projects or projects of a specific status.
Limit by Only prints projects associated with the project manager, or principal-in-charge who is producing the report. You can print all projects by selecting No limit. If you use multi-company, you can also limit by company.
Include premium time in calculation If selected, it includes premium time in cost amounts.
Include labor If selected, it includes labor in the report amounts.
Include expenses If selected, it includes expense in report amounts.
Include consultants If selected, it includes consultants in report amounts.
Use drilldown If selected, you can drill down to further detail on the report. If cleared, all information, including the lowest level of detail, prints on the report.
Print customize options on reports If selected, it prints a list of the report options that you select.

Report contents

Column Description
Status

The current status, as follows:

A - Active

P - Preliminary

W - Work hold

H - Hold

B - Billing hold

C - Closed

M - Marketing (unavailable in ajeraCore)

Contact Amount The fee amount budgeted for the project. Includes labor, expense and consultant billed amounts if you selected to print them in Customize options. The amount budgeted for the project at billing rates.
Contract Hours Total hours contracted.
Period Hours Hours worked on the project for the selected period or range of dates.
Period WIP Billable time that has not yet been included on a Final client invoice for the selected period or range of dates.
Period Billed The amount already billed for the project. This includes invoices that have a status of Final or Written-off.
Period Over The amount over billed based on revenue recognized for the selected period or range of dates.
Period Under The amount under billed based on revenue recognized for the selected period or range of dates.
Period Revenue

Revenue recognized for the selected period or range of dates.

This is based on the formula Billed + WIP + Under - Over.

Period Profit

The amount of profit you have made on the project:

Project-to-Date Revenue - Project-to-Date Cost

% of Budget Hrs

The percent of hours budgeted that have been worked:

Project-to-Date Hours / Budgeted hours * 100

% of Budget Bill

The percent of fee budget that has been spent:

Project-to-Date Billed / Fee budget * 100

% of Budget Rev

The percent of revenue earned in relation to the contract amount:

Project-to-Date revenue / Contract Amount * 100
