Setting up billing review stages

About billing review

Your security settings must allow you access to billing review stages before you can set them up.

Set up billing review stages in Ajera to mirror the ones in your firm.


  1. From the Setup menu, click Billing Review Stages.
Note: Billing review stages titled Pre-review and Final already exist; you cannot change or delete them. Ajera automatically assigns new invoices to the Pre-review stage and final invoices to the Final stage and auto-generates notes for these stages.
  1. Place the cursor one row above where you want the new billing review stage.
  2. Click the New button.
  1. For the description, type a descriptive name that indicates a billing review stage (for example, PM Review).
  2. Enter any notes about the stage, such as instructions for what tasks to perform during the stage.
  3. Select one or more of the following check boxes to notify a specific reviewer that an invoice is ready for review:
  • Notify Project Manager
  • Notify Billing Manager
  • Notify Principal
  • Notify Accounting

Notifications appear in Inquiries > Client > Client Invoice; Setup > Projects > Project list; and Setup > Projects > Invoices tab.

  1. Click Save. The billing review stage appears in a row below the cursor. To move it, click the row and click or .
