Changing beginning balances for unbilled WIP

  1. From the Company menu, click Beginning Balances > Unbilled Work-in-progress.
  2. Click the tab for the information you want to change:
Note: If you do not see the WIP you want to change, it was already billed, changed to nonbillable, or written off on a client invoice.

On the Labor tab, each row of the table is an item of unbilled labor.

Field

Description

Status

The status, as follows:

If status is

The transaction is

Billable

Ready for billing and included on the invoice.

Defer

Not included on the current invoice but automatically included on the next invoice.

Hold

In a pending state and not included on the current invoice.

Date

The date of the item

Project

The project associated with the labor item

Phase

The phase associated with the labor item

Activity

The activity associated with the labor item

Employee

The employee who performed the work

Hours

The number of hours for the work performed

Billing amount

The amount you want to bill for the work performed

Optional columns:

Company

Multi-company only

View only - The company associated with the project

Employee type

If the employee performed work different from that indicated by their employee type (as established in Setup > Employees), select the Employee Type you want to print on the invoice for this item.

Hours type

If the hours worked are not Regular time, make a selection

Sales tax amount

If you bill sales tax to your client, type the sales tax amount for this item.

Notes

Any notes for the item

For unbilled work that is vendor related, type the vendor name in the Notes field and choose to print notes on the invoice by selecting the Print Notes check box on the Time & Expenses tab of the Invoice Format window.

On the Expense & Consultant tab, each row of the table is an unbilled expense or consultant item.

  1. Click Save.
