Upload a Schedule for the Current Period

Use the Submittals hub to upload a Deltek Open Plan (.bk3), Microsoft Project (.mpp), or Primavera P6 (.xer or .xml) schedule for the current period.

You can upload and re-upload your schedule as many times as you want to before the Window Close Date; however, only one schedule per period is accepted so each time you upload, the previous snapshot/schedule is overwritten. For example, you may have uploaded your schedule and then realized that there was an error in it. You can upload a new one which will overwrite the previous one.

Note:
  • If a user or group has Read Only access to a project (set on the Access Control tab), they cannot upload a schedule for that project.
  • If you submit a schedule and the Time Now value is not current, Touchstone includes a warning in the email after the schedule is submitted. If you try to submit a schedule when the Time Now value is not current and the option to Reject submittals if the time now date is not current has been selected on the Projects Configuration tab, Touchstone displays a warning message and the schedule is not uploaded. "Current" is defined on the Projects Configuration tab.
  • If the Window Close Date has passed, you can no longer use these steps to upload the schedule. See Upload a Schedule for a Prior Period.

To upload your schedule for the current period:

  1. In the Navigation pane, in Hubs, click Submittals.
  2. Locate the project for which you want to upload a schedule.
  3. In the Uploaded column, click Upload Now.
If the schedule is past due (that is, you have missed the Window Close Date), this column changes to Closed and you can no longer upload a schedule.
  4. In the Open dialog box, navigate to your schedule and click Open. You can upload a Deltek Open Plan (.bk3), Microsoft Project (.mpp), or Primavera P6 (.xer or .xml) schedule. Touchstone will accept a file size up to 750MB.

You cannot submit a Primavera P6 or Open Plan file that includes multiple projects. The scoring will fail and an error message will display. You can, however, submit a Primavera P6 XML file with multiple baselines. Touchstone automatically selects the mapped baseline project based on the ID of the parent project indicated in the project section.

Touchstone ignores external relationships when you submit a BK3 (Open Plan) file. It will read external relationships when you submit XER, XML, and MPP files.

If the file upload is successful, a message displays letting you know that the schedule uploaded and that you will receive an email when the scoring is complete. The emails that are sent from Touchstone use the settings on the Configuration tab in Settings > General

Touchstone checks to see if the schedule meets or exceeds the minimum acceptance criteria score. The acceptance criteria is specified on the Projects Configuration tab. If the schedule meets or exceeds the minimum score, the Status column displays Accepted. Touchstone updates the Current Program % Complete (Programs Overview tab) and Current Project % Complete (Projects Overview tab) fields and enters the percentage score in the Submittals Score column.

If the schedule doesn't meet the minimum score requirement, the Status column displays Rejected and Touchstone enters the percentage score in the Submittals Score column. A message box displays, letting you know that the schedule has been rejected and providing you with a link to view a report of what went wrong. The report displays in Microsoft Excel. You can click the Rejected link in the Submittals Status column anytime you want to view the report.

You can correct your schedule and upload it again as long as the date is prior to the Window Close Date.
