Delete a Benchmark Attribute Option

Use these steps to delete a benchmark attribute option from Touchstone.

When you delete a benchmark attribute option, the benchmark attribute for all snapshots where the option was selected is cleared. You will need to select new benchmark attribute option values for those affected snapshots. You do this on the project's Snapshot tab.

The data in the Benchmark Attributes grid on the Programs Overview tab is refreshed every time you display or refresh the view so when you delete a benchmark attribute value, the average will change and can be seen the next time you view the Programs Overview tab.

To delete a benchmark attribute option:

1. In the Navigation pane, under Settings, click Benchmark Attributes. If you do not see this menu option, you may not have rights to it.
2. In the Benchmark Attributes view, click the Options link in the benchmark attribute line for the value you want to delete.
3. On the Edit Attribute dialog box, hover over the attribute option that you want to delete and click the X on the right side of the row.

   A message displays asking you to confirm the deletion. If the option has been used in any snapshots, the message will let you know that deleting this option will also remove it from any snapshots.

   If there is only one option, you cannot delete it since an attribute must have at least one option. You can click in the value or option cell to edit it, or delete the attribute in the Benchmark Attributes view.

4. Click Delete.
   The benchmark attribute value is deleted and the benchmark attribute for all snapshots where the value was selected is cleared.
