IPMDAR Platform Integration

The Integrated Program Management Data Analysis Report format (IPMDAR) is a Department of Defense contractor reporting format that uses the JSON data-exchange format. You can import IPMDAR contract performance and schedule data into Acumen, and you can also export data to an IPMDAR file.

Import IPMDAR Cost Data

In order to import IPMDAR cost data, you must first select IPMDAR Contract Performance Data in the Get External Data From group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (IPMDAR) page. When you select this, Acumen adds an IPMDAR Contract Performance Data option to the Cost Import wizard. To import IPMDAR cost data, display the S1 // Projects tab and click the Cost Data menu option to start the Import wizard.

Import IPMDAR Schedule Data

In order to import IPMDAR schedule data, you must first select IPMDAR Schedule Data in the Get External Data From group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (IPMDAR) page. When this is selected, Acumen adds an IPMDAR menu option to the Get External Data From menu group on the S1 // Projects tab that you click to start the import.

Export Schedule Data to an IPMDAR file

In order to export schedule data to an IPMDAR file, you must first select IPMDAR Schedule Data in the Publish Data To group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (IPMDAR) page. When you select a project in the Projects pane on the S1 // Projects tab that is not an IPMDAR schedule project, Acumen enables the IPMDAR Schedule option under the Publish menu on the S1 // Projects tab.

When you publish, the IPMDAR Schedule Export Options dialog box displays where you can select your export options.

If you export work package ID's, Acumen prepends the control account ID to the work package ID. For example, WBS / OBS / WP ID would be 1.1.1 / 1.ENG.CLARK / 1.1.1.1 where 1.1.1.1 is the work package ID. This ensures that the work package ID is unique which is a requirement of the IPMDAR format.

You can export schedule data that you have imported from Open Plan, Oracle Primavera, or Microsoft Project. In addition, you can save the field configurations for the IPMDAR export in Acumen.

Export Cost Data to an IPMDAR File

In order to export cost data to an IPMDAR file, you must first select IPMDAR Contract Performance Data in the Publish Data To group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (IPMDAR) page. When you select a project in the Projects pane on the S1 // Projects tab that is not an IPMDAR contract performance project, Acumen enables the IPMDAR Contract Performance option under the Publish menu on the S1 // Projects tab.

When you publish, the IPMDAR Cost Performance Export Options dialog box displays.

You can export cost data that you have imported from Cobra or Deltek .csv formats. In addition, you can save the field configurations for the IPMDAR export in Acumen.

Contracts and Contractors

IPMDAR contract performance and schedule files include contract and contractor data. When you import an IPMDAR file, Acumen saves the data within the Acumen workbook. You can use imported contract and contractor data when you export data to either the IPMDAR contract performance or schedule formats. You can also export it to a template file for use in other workbooks.

You can use the Contracts and Contractors options on the S1 // Projects tab Edit menu group to import, export, add, edit, and delete contract and contractor data.

Mapping Incoming IPMDAR Fields

When you import a schedule from an IPMDAR file, Acumen automatically maps the standard IPMDAR fields to Acumen fields (see Standard Field Mappings); however, you can use the Field Mapping tab to map custom / user-defined IPMDAR fields to Acumen fields.

Exporting Assignments

Many scheduling tools allow a resource to be assigned to an activity more than once. IPMDAR schedules do not support this. When Acumen exports assignments, it combines multiple assignments of the same resource on an activity into one which generates the differences in forensics.

Comparing an IPMDAR Schedule to a Non IPMDAR Schedule

  • Multiple Assignments: When you compare an IPMDAR schedule in forensics with a non IPMDAR schedule, Acumen combines multiple assignments of the same resource on an activity for all schedules being compared to eliminate differences due to IPMDAR format rules.
  • Comparing Dates: When you compare dates in forensics between IPMDAR schedules and non-IPMDAR schedules, the time of the date will now be ignored and only the date will be used since IPMDAR does not have time on dates.
  • Comparing Resources: When you compare resources in forensics between IPMDAR schedules and non-IPMDAR schedules, Acumen combines multiple assignments of the same resource to the same activity for the non-IPMDAR schedule as IPMDAR does not allow for multiple assignments of the same resource to the same activity.

SPD and CPD

SPD is the Schedule Performance Dataset. CPD is the Contract Performance Dataset. Acumen reads and writes both.
