Deltek Open Plan Platform Integration

Acumen can link directly to an Open Plan project in the database or to a project in a BK3 file.

If you have Open Plan installed on your computer, and you have a valid Open Plan login, you can link to an Open Plan project that is located in the Open Plan database to which you last connected.

Another way to link to a project is by linking to an Open Plan project in a BK3 (backup) file. You do not need Open Plan installed on your computer to use this method.

Open Plan linking and importing supports custom field mapping (normal, code, and user-defined fields).

You can export normal and code fields to Open Plan. You cannot export user-defined fields to Open Plan.

Exporting a Scenario back to Open Plan Using Existing Ancillary Files

When you import an Open Plan project into Acumen, Acumen also loads the ancillary data.

When you create a scenario and export that scenario back to Open Plan, the system creates a new Open Plan project. The system looks to see if there are ancillary files. If there are none, it will create them. If there are existing ancillary files, it will use those files when it creates the new Open Plan project.

User-Defined Fields

When Acumen imports from a BK3 file, any field that begins with User or User_ displays on the Fields tab as a User Defined field. Other user defined fields display as Standard fields.

User-Defined Percentage

In Open Plan, you can set the activity EVT to User-Defined Percentage and enter a Start % (Activity Details dialog box, General tab).

When you import data into Acumen, you can use the Activity View Field Chooser (S1 // Projects tab and S3 // Risk tab) to add the Earned Value Technique and Start Percentage columns to see this data.

Open Plan Platform Options

Standard Field Mappings

  • Physical % Complete: The Physical % Complete field is auto-mapped to the Open Plan PPC field.
