Metrics Library Pane

Acumen uses libraries of metrics to analyze projects. Standard metric libraries pertaining to schedule quality, cost, project performance, risk exposure, earned value, and more are included within the tool.

Each workbook includes its own metric library which you can see in the left pane of each Metric form. You can click on a metric to view or edit its settings. Any change you make to the metrics or the metric library is made only to the open workbook.

You can save a metric library as an XML file template that can be reused in another workbook. The metric library files can be stored on file servers and shared between multiple users. When you reuse a metric library template, it creates a new workbook and automatically inherits the selected metric template library.

Custom Metric Library

In addition to manually applying custom metric libraries, you can use the settings on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box (General) to set a custom metric library to be the standard default library for each newly created workbook.

Include Changes in New Workbooks

In order to include the metric (or metric library) in new workbooks, you must select the Include in new Workbook option or right-click on the metric folder and click Settings > Include in new Workbook to include the entire metric library in all future workbooks. After selecting this check box, save the metric library as a metric library template ( > Save As > Deltek Acumen Metric Library Template) and make sure that the Default Metric Library Location field on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box (General) is set to the location of the saved template.
