Use automatic activity goal-based acceleration to define the acceleration target and let Acumen 360 automatically generate the schedule scenario that meets that goal.
To define an acceleration goal for a specific activity, complete the following steps:
-
Select the S4 // Acceleration tab.
-
In the Acceleration group, click
Accelerate Schedule to display the Accelerate Schedule dialog box.
-
Use the
Select / Change Activity to Accelerate drop-down list to select the activity against which the acceleration needs to be conducted.
-
Do one of the following:
- Select
New Finish Date and click the calendar or use the sliding scale to set the target goal for the activity acceleration.
- Select
Best Activity Finish Date Possible if you want Acumen to select the acceleration date. Acumen automatically determines the appropriate level of granularity to apply during an analysis. This is calculated based on the complexity of logic, number of activities, remaining duration, and aggressiveness of the acceleration.
-
In the Select Acceleration Script box, select the script that you want to use for the acceleration.
Click
Edit Script
at the bottom of the dialog box if you want to make changes to the script or to see what is included with the script. When you click
Edit Script, the S4 // Acceleration tab displays with the script selected.
-
(Optional) Click
Advanced >> if you want to manually override the level applied so that an even more accurate, or alternately, a faster but less accurate model can be run.
-
Click
OK to run the simulation.
After the simulation is complete, an Acceleration Results dialog box displays with the results. You can choose to add the accelerated scenario to your project and then run another script, or go to Forensics or Diagnostics, or you can choose not to add the scenario to your project.
