Choose a Project Dialog Box

The Choose a Project dialog box enables you to choose a project for which the view should display.

You can also open a view without creating a permanent link to the project. This enables you, for example, to sample the various views available in the Open Plan Library without filling the project’s Views folder with view links that you do not need.

Note: If you double-click a code view to attach to a code file or a resource view to attach to a resource file, the dialog box that displays is titled Choose a Code File or Choose a Resource Pool, respectively, and the appropriate open files display. The functionality of the dialog boxes remains the same.
  • Open Projects: This list box displays a list of projects that you have open. Selecting a project from this list and clicking OK displays information from that project in the view.
  • Make a Permanent Link to Project: Selecting the Make a Permanent Link to Project setting instructs Open Plan to create a link to the view for the selected project. The linked view is placed in the selected project’s Views folder when you click OK.

Open Plan remembers your selection for the next time you display this dialog box. In other words, if you select the Make a Permanent Link to Project setting, the next time you display the dialog box, this setting will automatically be selected.

The Choose a Project dialog box displays automatically if you have at least one project open and you try to open one of the following views from the Open Plan Library folder in Open Plan Explorer:

  • Barchart
  • Histogram
  • Network
  • Risk
  • Spreadsheet
