Use this procedure to enter an annotation in the network view.
To enter an annotation in the network view:
-
In the
Project Views folder of Open Plan Explorer, select a project to display in network view.
-
Take one of the following:
- In the
View menu group of the View tab, click
Add Annotation.
- Right-click an empty area of the view, and click
Add Annotation from the shortcut menu.
- Right-click an activity, and click
Annotate Activity from the context menu.
-
In the Network View Annotation dialog box, enter the text you want to display as an annotation.
-
To attach an annotation to a specific activity, rather than to the view, enter the activity ID in the
Attach to Activity ID field.
The annotation will then stay with the activity whenever the activity is moved on the view.
Note: Each activity can only have one annotation. Attaching an annotation to an activity that already has one detaches (but does not delete) the old annotation.
-
From the
Style drop-down list, select a border for the annotation.
-
From the
Text Color drop-down list, select a color for the annotation text.
-
From the
Background Color drop-down list, select a background color for the annotation.
-
To change the appearance of the annotation text, click the
Font button, and select a font and its attributes.
The
Font button will be enabled when you clear the
Use Default Font option. Deselecting this option opens the Font dialog box.
-
Select the
Resize Box to Fit Data option if you want the
Annotation Box to automatically resize depending on the text length of the annotation.
-
Click
OK.
